Biggest issue of bfv was content delivery was lacking and polish. but recently, patch 4.4 fixed majority of the main issues plagueing bfv. 4.6 fixed the rest while adding more QoL improvements and stuff. Plus the new maps Al sundan and Operation Metro made people think: "fuck yeah, bfv is fun." The core gameplay was always good of bfv. Chapter 5 is also coming out soon which most people are excited about. And bfv is newer than bf1, so population is obviously higher.
