well render weight is a maths equation, thats what produces bugs like invisible soldiers. the more complex the mesh, the higher the cpu has to work decoding and rendering textures on mesh surfaces the higher the render weight.

When WW2 comes to mind, I think of: that kid who dropped out of college or whatever to join up for the Airborne and do his part, Germans defending the Normandy beaches, Paratroopers dropping into Holland during Market-Garden, US Marines storming Iwo Jima or Guadalcanal. WW2 was just so large that there are multiple ways of fighting it. When we say WW2, that shouldn't translate into an abstraction: that should translate into B109's, P-51 mustangs over the Pacific, soldiers storming Omaha Beach and Paratroopers fighting in Carentan. Not some dude in a gasmask with crazy outfits.

They need to do it the way gears of wars did it with 4. The season pass for it was only to have the maps private and early access to them. Otherwise every single map was accessible to everyone whether you purchased the pass or not. Gears of war 4 put out 24 maps FOR FREE. They sold less than BF5 and BF4 as well.
So it can be done if the devs want to do it.
They simply choose not to.
