in order for the first assignment to complete you have to destroy both explosives depots and and both radar dishes with lewes bombs. All four. The assignment is called "Destroy all objs using Lewes Bombs".

In contrast, "Destroy All objectives using a plane" only requires the munitions depots, not the Radar dishes. Certainly explains why they are invincible.
