I see it on the vehicles a lot, but I've ran out of ammo on infantry a handful of times
attrition isn't necessarily bad because of the resource scarcity it creates, but more because of its implications on resupply
like in BF4/1, everything resupplies on different timers
especially when Ammo 2.0 was trialed
so the rate you resupply rockets with isn't the same as your grenade resupply rate, or ammo resupply rate
like you got smokes back really fast in BF1 compared to frags

where your resupply was variable with suppression and independent of respawn
so it virtually eliminated explosive spam
people were mad bc "oh this system only reduces nade spam by <10%, this is trash DICE"
but they weren't entirely correct
Ammo 2.0 reduced spam by <10% across all maps
but on maps with spam problems, like Fort De Vaux, you were getting like >90% reductions
without this, BFV has problems where you either lack resources when you need them, or if you're camping a resupply depot, you get stuff back way too fast
like if you camp an ammo depot, you can shoot out PIATs pretty damn fast
if you call supply canisters in you can have like 150% flare uptime
