Yep. It's definitely not a playstyle that's well-supported, but I still find it satisfying sometimes.

I want to like tanks, so I like tanks. But I hold no delusions that they're normally amazing in the game, and I know I have to be 100% on to make an impact at all.

With few exceptions, I cause more chaos with a Krag and a flare gun, but I like armour, so I learned to play it in a way that's at least useful to the team.

If you missed the prior long discussion, you're probably better off with a PzIV on most maps. Same guns, same specializations... except that the StuG is set up to kill small groups of flanking infantry more effectively instead of just getting infantry mined to death, instead of having more utility against tanks.

If you're going to use AP, angle of impact matters A LOT.

The PzIV can better dictate that angle via its mobility than the StuG can.

Tiger 1 has basically the same velocity as the PzIV and StuG (roughly 10m/s lower), but substantially more damage, and with the latest patch, immunity to 20mm rounds from Staghounds.

15 ROF on the Tiger down from 18 on the StuG/PzIV. MUCH higher damage (30+/50+ on HE/APCR higher raw value) on a hit.

(Yes, StuG with AP does have about 100m/s higher velocity for those 6 shots, but that's harder to justify given the bounce likelihood from range against the front of a target.)
