I think i have an unpopular opinion: removing spotting has slowed down the game and made attacking too hard for public servers
and certainly, giving assault players long range options didnt help
for 3 games in a row now on breakthrough, the assault players were all hiding way back with their semi auto rifles with scopes and they blame ppl "stop sniping!!"

Thats why they invented heavy tanks, and breakthrough is a good illustration of that philosophy .. aerodrome breakthrough, the main hanger... germans can easily win there if the allied tanks sit on the hill and snipe, however if a few of those tanks hit the hanger hard right inside it from both sides with a determined infy assault, the allies will win the map 9/10 times
