Here's the thing:
Dice is a pretty decent developer. The leading head is pulling directly with EA, leading to fatal decisions. Also their PR team can be a desaster. The devs themselves mostly want the best for the players, weighting choices dependend on feedback and server datas.
The animators, modellers and sound designers of Dice do some of the best works i know in the gaming industry, kudos to them, even if most of them are freelancers anyways.

At this points Dice could do a Bungie and try to split from their Publisher, since they have a sub-studio in LA, which is helping.
But, EA won't let Dice go, even if Dice screws everything up in regard to game design and the games in general.
What puts the nail in the coffin is Dice's home-made Frostbite Engine. EA pushes the engine into directions it wasn't intended too and uses it for more and more games. So even if Dice screws everything up, EA still needs them to work on the Engine.
Whether you see this as an up or down is up to debate, but Dice stands on a wonky position and could actually focus on making better without a publisher forcing them to implement things they don't want to implement.
Also, no one knows if Dice by itself wouldn't be just the next cynical pile of garbage of a studio, but then again, it's mostly the alienated leadership that makes the worst decisions.
