Upgraded has minimal recoil. Short range beats smgs due to smgs having low firerate and dmg, medium range is like a semi auto except it is full auto. At long range u can tap fire easily too

So suppression in BFV basically causes some weird visual effects for the person being suppressed, but it also creates a red diamond above the suppressed enemy's head. This acts like a spotting mechanic of sorts.
