Yeah, bfV seems to address alot of issues people had with bf1, I personally liked bf1 at first due to its gritty atmosphere and the nice looking bolt actions, but I felt like that excitement worn down sooner than usual

And BfV for me was exciting since me and my friends actually got to play in a squad more tactically than in bf1 and dare I say even bf4. It felt like we were playing bf3 again, I still have gripes with the tank spawn system though

To a degree, don't get me wrong, BF2 is pretty bad by today's standards, but it took legitimate risks that pushed stuff forward in exciting and big ways, without losing the core of the experience seen in 1942. They made social gaming easier - and while of course there was lots they had to cut to make release, what was delivered was still an expansion and evolution from 1942 and Vietnam.

BF3 might have had an expansion of first person experience stuff revolving and contained withing the player, but the actual team, world and overall battle experiences that everyone shared were less dynamic and less complex than even BC2.

#

And each subsequent release has felt more solo, lonewolf, pickup-and-play, drop-in-drop-out low individual contribution with maximum selfish play style design

#

BFV feels like a decent return to form, but really, the biggest experience game-changer is the massive 3D spotting nerf.

#

Vehicle spawning and lack of main bases really cheapens the battle feel.

#

Maybe in the context of air battles and naval battles but I still think the best way to describe bf1 is that it's an alternate ww1 where the different factions managed to mass produce their different powerful weapons that were previously prototypes or never mass fielded at all which led to the war being less of a battle of standing still while attrition wears you down and more of a early blitzkrieg style
