also the screams of the dying in BFV are horrifying

Kinda yeah, German aircraft were all over the place though. 109 was genuinely fantastic when it was first designed, but it was designed in the interwar period. Got pushed way beyond its effective capabilities. 190 was a very good design. Hs. 129 was good at one specific thing, though let down by engine availability issues forcing it to use Gnomes.

Bf. 110 was not bad, but wasn't actually a good heavy fighter design either.

Me 410 was a solid update to a flawed basic concept (Two-person heavy fighter), though the Me 210 that predated it was a shitshow.

Yeah, people blame every bad decision on Hitler, but the OKW as a whole was pretty fucking awful.

I think my favorite example of how badly mismanaged the OKW was comes from the Nuremburg trials. The allies didn't charge the OKW as a criminal organization because their prosecutors couldn't find enough evidence of organization to build an ironclad case.

The french soldiers (FFL?), the Spitfire pilots, the Norwegian resistance, whatever's going on with that team of saboteurs(?) paddling kayaks around, the prisoner, the Tiger crew. Instead of mashing it all together I'd rather see one trailer per story focused on getting us keen on that story.

Yeah, the internal politics of the OKW really hampered a lot of German development, as well as tactical and strategic decisions.

Good example for instance, the invasion of Poland. The Luftwaffe was resistant to co-operating with ground forces, had developed no capability for communication or signaling between them directly, and had poor liaison training. Net result was that the Luftwaffe was either ineffective in tactical support, or actually bombed their own troops.

The Soviets suckered the Germans into believing that their preparations were purely defensive in nature, intended to give them a better situation to build up before a planned offensive in the winter. Yeah, my major focus is on gear and vehicles. Have to pick up background to understand the design, utilization, effects, and drawbacks of all the equipment though. Like the whole issue with sub-par armor in late-war German tanks, which can be traced to a single British airstrike on a mine in Norway.

The Knaben mine supplied all the molybdenum for Germany at the time. When the Brits bombed it, they permanently cut Germany off from a key alloying element, which meant that German armor became more brittle when hardened.

You basically just described Titanfall's mechanics for pulling a Titan. Though in Frontier Defense you do start with one already, so you have to lose it before you worry about needing to pull a new one.

Also, you ought to play the second one at least. It's super cheap and loads of fun.

The SP is fantastic, MP is fast as hell and loads of fun, and FD (the wave defense mode) is pretty crazy.

It might go on sale, haven't really noticed. IMO it's a steal at $20.

Movement is insane, wallrun, doublejump, slidehopping, and the grappling hook tactical is just nuts.
