I paid 10€ for a copy of halflife 20 years ago and that game kept me playing for over 12 years of counterstrike without any DLCs, microtransactions or whatever the fuck.

@opal lodge because the business has changed. It's easier to promise content and wait for sales numbers to come in. See if enough people bought it, and decide if you should keep the game alive/ shelf it.

@broken glade I agree but it all depends on who uses it. Bioware with Andromeda had tons of issues using frostbite. Which essentially ruined the game

Yeah, having assignments for everything is pretty much a pain. Sure, it's cool to have a challenge for those that want it, and want to feel a sense of accomplishment for unlocking a gun they really wanted, but still. 80% of people wanna play to have fun with friends, and not have to worry about what they need to do to unlock stuff.

There were assignments for pretty much everything in Battlefield 1. Melee weapons, every class, specializations, etc. The only difference was, you paid for Premium, and your weapons are still locked behind assignments.

OR at least weapon lock the guns to the year of the battle so we arent just running around with the stg44 when the weapon didnt even see the day until late in the war
