the problem of modern, as Battle(Non)Sense put it, is that it lends itself to technologies that are too imbalanced (by design)
this is also why a formula like what was given in 2142 would have worked, if the weapons are imaginary, then they can be balanced and unique at the same time
WWII was the last war where there was really a technological equal footing across the board (well, except naval battles in the pacific) - the modern warfare philosophies hadn't been fully developed, and as such each nation poured money into different philosophies,
you might say "Ah! but China or Russia now!" And, well, no. In fact, the way BF has become, having real world factions at all is pointless, since everyone can use all the guns, there's no asymmetry so why have factions at all, just make it red vs. blue

The scout was given. single fire m16 or a bolt action m40, for example. The M16 would take an irregular (not clean division into 20) rounds to kill a target, so while it realistically had the potential for 3 kills per mag, if you killed two, and had 8 rounds left, you had to decide if losing the 8 was worth the added survivability, since it would comfortably kill one target, but would also be woefully inadequate if there was more than one hostile engaging you.
m40 on the other hand did not have this issue, you could top it off whenever, though the rate of fire discouraged close engagements, it did a very good job keeping an enemy advance slowed so long as there wasn't an enemy with a mortar, sniper rifle or long range explosive down range.

Just had an amazing operation game on the 1st map and we managed to push through and get them to the 2nd map but I got that infinite loading screen bug AGAIN.
After not playing for 2 weeks thinking it would've been fixed already it's pretty ridiculous how this isn't fixed yet..
This bug combined with how the game just doesn't count your 1st map progress if you never finish the full operation campaign towards the 25k pack event is pretty frustrating

I had a 75 killstreak with a mortar landship on Sinai Desert on Operations, Attacking
I joined on the last battallion and we made it all the way to the city but didn't capture it all
Destroyed about 3 tanks and 2 planes, so it's pretty good if you're a competent tanker and your sponson operators are good.

There's no good counters to planes in this game
AA stations are destroyable and avoidable, dogfighting is stupid as fuck because apparently an attack plane can out maneuver a fighter, and AT rockets can't even 1 shot a plane

To take out vehicles you need teamplay. Two people is often enough for any vehicle. If you're assault then you should be able to take out an attack plane with three shots: One as it's diving towards the ground, one when it's pitching up from it, and one final as it tries to run away.
The burton LMR melts planes, especially the wings of them.

That's true on most platforms. You just gotta find someone else that is shooting at the planes as well. Two people will make quick work of a plane.

I don't understand why DICE don't, Reddit has been asking for that operation campaign since it was first shown yet they refuse to play it after 6 whole months or so. It has the two most well balanced and enjoyable operations of the game yet it's impossible to find Marne games anymore due to players being filtered into Verdun and Galicia.
if the next campaign is eastern storm or blood and sand I'll probably never touch a operation campaign again now that I have the axe and knives.

they added three melee weapons exclusive to operation campaigns, the Russian and French knives and later the Russian Axe, you need 5 puzzle pieces for each to unlock them. You can only get them from operation campaign battlepacks of which you earn 2 a day from getting 25k score in both operations. To which you need to actually get lucky and hope the battlepack gives you the pieces you need.
So 15 games minimum for all three, not accounting for RNG and you need spread those games out 2 per day.

If you trying to get the bow and not the tags you can just play on outbreak and there is a bow in one of the crates which unlocks it for you

When i use the following filters | Conquest, 29/32 maps, EU, 50% spawn, 200% ticket count | i get 3 servers with 60+ players. the rest are 0/64... seems like there arent that many people playing BF1 anymore? wish i could see how many players are in each playmode, like COD Black Ops 1 had.
29/32 maps are all maps excluded the airplane vs airplane maps.
