Optical is unlocked for everyone with the weapons crate update, same with the Sjorgen slug - even if you don't have the DLCs / They Shall Not Pass, same case with the patrol m1917 trench carbine and Turning Tides.

The standard ribeye is probably better but the optical is a good choice nonetheless. In terms of assault guns the thompson / SMG 08 are the two obvious picks while the MP18 is a sleeper hit gun.

i just damaged the wings on a plane twice in 5 secs

i also ruined the engine

but he had no issues flying away

with other lmgs at least i could've done like 50 damage by then, maybe 60.... i also interrupted his repairs twice, but didnt stop him from casually flying away like nothing happened

@gray glade it doesnt do a lot of damage against planes as far as hit points go, just really messes up their parts...so if you're the only one on the team lighting up an enemy aircraft with a burton, you probably wont be able to shoot it down on your own

The burton isn't very good for directly killing planes, it's more for pestering them and getting them to be less aggressive. Attack planes who are keen infantry farmers will be forced to stop doing attack runs and repair the damages. Standard high magazine LMGs like the MG14 or m1917 are much more effective at outright killing planes by comparison.

It's like the AA Rocket gun, killing a plane outright is a little troublesome but if you time shots as it descends and hit above the plane you could (assuming it's not been changed) knock the plane down and have it crash into the floor which is more effective than blindly shooting at it

Medic crates and pouches is a matter of which is more beneficial to you. I like healing people with pouches on the go and on myself if I'm under fire

As a medic your priority is to heal and revive. Back up your Assault and Support teammates who will take the thick of the heat so you can push forward. Always have smoke grenades, as the others said. I know I'm eternally grateful for my medic squadmates who patch me up when in a pitch

And if you think it's too dangerous to go for a revive, don't do it

I have started using gas more often than smoke as a medic. I will toss one in an area of enemies. My squad will rush in and take out any that are in there. I will pick off the ones who flee. Makes a good strategy on maps with buildings or trenches. The more open maps I will use smoke.
