hey you want to engage that assault rifles user at long range? SURE
use your smg/carbine and do it easily with no spread or drop off
CSGO has a very similar system to BF1, bullets have some random "spread" when used out of their effective range
in BFV the system will be even more like CSGO so get used to missing targets at range with your SMG
or, you could choose to adapt and pick engagements that favor the gun class you picked @solid hinge

The class range engagements are controlled by the RBD/Spread mechanics @long canopy

they are normalizing spread patterns so each gun will have one you can master, just like CSGO
but i assume the random deviation will still exist when using a gun outside it's effective range

but you typically are engaging closer so may not notice
from A-pit on dust 2 the deagle will miss 50% of all shot no matter where your crosshair rests, for example
I assume it's the same or worse for the SMGs
