yeah DICE seems to have gone with making sure that of the big armies in WW1, they prioritized those of the countries with the larger player bases of BF1 over the smaller countries which may have had an equal effort in the war. Enough battles in Russia, in France, Italy, Turkey, involving Germans (hard to ignore ofc), Americans, Canadians, Arabs, ... and then not including other massively important forces in WW1 like Belgium or Serbia because small countries 😦

A 20 round stick mag was developed for the MP18 but the army insisted on using the 32-round snail mag that they had for the luger. the stick mag came in use in 1920 if I recall correctly

I'm working on a roadmap to go from being a noob to being good at BF1

I already changed some keybinds, so I can actually crouchslide in game and I also separated melee and bayonet charge keybinds so the game doesn't fuck it up for me

All about the flare & flank and it's been well effective so far. The plan is to play the info game. Spot everyone else (including awareness for longer spot times), make sure I'm not noticed a lot (quick unspot, silent footsteps) and be super super aggressive, rushing the frontline right away, mopping up the defenders from behind rocks and walls. Then switch to assault if I need to dynamite open a door. I think for defending side, I'll just use a rez&heal medic with an AL Extended, because it's effective enough and very similar to the m1903 experimental in gameplay

Once I'm good at that, I can see from there

but I'll stop pursueing assignments, stick to the build and learn the quirks of the maps for once

In ww2 germany used the mp28 which there are differences to the mp18

They used mostly drum mag on the mp18 because it was indeed the most popular during ww1 but the stick mag was around for it aswell

Aside the mp28 isnt a really different weapon its just an improved version of the mp18 but there differences in those and both use the drum and stick type mags

tbh I'm not sure what to think about a WW2 BF game. Back in the 1942 days, the scope of utility and weaponry in the game was so limited that you were always pretty much on top of what was going on in the map, so that worked. But BF1 is such a chaotic clusterfuck that I'm not sure about another historic BF game... Cause I feel like in the modern ones, at least you had better means of countering vehicles

although.... WW2 has bazooka and panzerschreck, so a mobile anti-vehicle solution exists

In BF4 there's more veterans playing so you may have a more difficult time there

But I will say that you should start easy with the guns

Use the low recoil guns with heavy barrel + stubby to minimize spread for distance engagements.

then all you'll have to worry about is recoil management (which should be easy with mid range guns)

this is if you're playing conquest large. If it's TDM/Domination, take high RPM weapons with compensator + stubby grip

Heavy barrel + ergo is also a great option if you ADAD a lot

Because one of the great things about the game design of BF1 is the model silhouettes.

It's subtle, but it's very nice that you can tell what you're facing against depending on the character model.

Bonus points to the Assault character model.

I wonder if there are any actually fully/almost fully populated BF4 lobbies @ this hour <.< Can't find a single one with people in queue and all the ones with the most people in them (50+) actually have like MAX 20 people in reality

Not even those "locker 247" or "metro 3200 tickets" servers which usually seem full all day long

Just joined another one that had 54/64 players and in reality it was an empty server with me being the only player in it

Yep, people do that to make it seem like their servers are full 🤦

Yeah, happens all the time.. Usually can avoid it by "bookmarking" some servers that actually has atleast ALMOST the real player count marked in there but at this hour in EU all those servers are dead aswell so I have to scout from the list of random servers and it's kinda pain, feels almost like there just isn't any populated lobbies online at this hour
