on conquest assault there's a Defending and Attacking team
the Defending team has no base and is only allowed to spawn on flags
the attacking team starts in a small disadvantage since defending team has all the flags captured in the beginning which is compensated by giving extra tickets to attackers
in other words if attacking team captures all the flags defending team can't spawn in

Go to Origin ---> Application Settings ---> During Gameplay and make sure all that stuff is off

Maybe someone here can help me out with my performance issue... running on PC, an i5-4690k and a GTX 970 - all settings on high, I used to be at a pretty solid 60 but lately it's been fluctuating wildly, usually sits at 40-50 and sometimes as low as 20... not sure what changed, though tried all sorts of things to make it better again

You don't need the user config file. Try resetting 3D settings in Nvidia control panel and setting the Power Management mode to Prefer Maximum Performance, leave everything else untouched.
Also, turn off origin overlay from Origin's application settings and Game Properties.

Tried that also - power management is at maximum performance, Origin overlay is off, and GPU drivers have done a clean reinstall - with or without the config file framerate is quite poor
Not sure what's going on, though could maybe try reinstalling BF1 just in case

There's this phenomenon where the sun suddenly goes super bright and everything is harder to see
and then it normalizes. It happens on both maps.

I think BF2 was the best for squad play. There was a huge focus to keep each person next to you because each class has a purpose. Now each class is almost to the point where you can solo essentially everytime

Also one of my main reasons why I love BF4 is because the TTK, It's not too high or too low also what I just miss in BF1 is customization
I know BF4 has a ton of weapons and some are just replica's with a different jacket but still you could change so much stuff. I just really dislike the fact in BF1 that there is like 1 weapon with 4 different setups that are all pre-made.
