@winged oracle I would not recommend HOI4 at all mate. I like Paradox grand strategy but HOI4 is very barebones as a game and very "simple" compared to say EUIV or CK2. HOI4 is basically a map painting game compared to the other entries in the strategy series.

so the commander is on the ground and is a regular player and his assets can be destroyed

This might be coming off a frustrating game where majority of Scouts are miles away from the Front. But I'd honestly think Sniper rifles should be removed from the game. And Scouts instead could only get Marksman, Infantry and Carbine rifles instead.

I disagree. Snipers objectively are alright. The problem is snipers who don't cover avenues of advance.

If you're on say Monte Grappa and you're situated off the path between b and d shooting down at targets advancing from E to C I say that's a civic service.

If you're off on the hill near A trying to Chris Kyle people at B. Yeah reconsider your life.

One thing most distance snipers don't practice well enough is periscope spotting tbh.

Flares are sublime but if you got a good enough angle of fire to observe multiplayer enemies use the trench periscope since it highlights the enemes and makes em easy to farm assists off of.

They're inferior to Marksmen rifles in every way. Granted you need to have genuine skill to cross map with the marksmen ones.

I'm fine with them in the game for most day to day players since most of them don't have as much time to hone firing over 150 metres with marksmen rifles to effect.

The SMLE is the best bolt action rifle. I use the Springfield to be cheeky in counter sniping.

Marksman is my favorite variant for no glints.

If I play Scout every now and then I use the Lebel 1886 Infantry. But that's because I'm a complete Francoboo.

The problem @hollow gull if I tend to pick weapons based on my genuine like for them IRL rather than actual in-game use. So I use the Nagant Revolver currently for Scout. I'm basically crippling myself.

I'd say my absolute favourite is the Steyr M1912.

Ignoring the fun reload. I tend to get good use out of it in terms of kills.

It's a bit of a shame side-arms aren't all class really.

Since the majority I see used anyway is the M1911 anyway.

No special trick to using them, they're kinda just generic versatile pistols. The 1911 in particular is a 3 shot kill if you land three 35 damage shots, coupled with speedy reload times and decent enough accuracy at close range it makes for a good backup weapon.

mars has great accuracy and bullet speed but its too slow on rpm and drawing speed

if u want to tap with rifle and finish with pistol use the frommer

it has the fastest drawing speed

if u want to just use the pistol to kill, use the obrez it has the fastest ttk

if no1 is gonna get near u, u can use the mars

expect to see more snipers camping further away after ttk changes, since most classes gai nan even bigger advantage close range and medic start intruding on the 70m zone
