Assault: Hellriegel, Automatipro, and basically anything that isn't the 12g Automatic.

I think each persons opinion of which are the better weapons will likely differ between each person. For example: I like the BAR in Support class, but I hate having to reload constantly due to the low ammo clip. MG Suppressive has massive ammo clip (around 200 bullets if I remember correctly), but isn't very accurate past close to medium range. Lewisgun Suppressive has decent sized clip & is ok accuracy wise with hipfiring close quarters & is fairly accurate crouch/prone over long-ish differences - I use it to damage planes on hardcore servers.

I like the Hellriegel in Assault class as it has a large ammo clip & is devastasting in close quarter combat; especially on hardcore servers & even on regular servers & you don't even have to bother using the iron sights to aim, just spray & pray at whatever is in front of you & watch it die.

#

I think I tend to use the CEI Rigotti (I think that's the name) whenever I play as medic class & I use the SMLE infantry if I play sniper (2x zoom) so I can still run around rather than camping at the edge of the map as I lack the patience for that.

@unborn iris that was my point... everyone will have their own opinion. Some people might be more comfortable using x weapon instead of y weapon regardless of whether the stats of y weapon are better. 😉

I found when I was using the MG to try shoot people over medium distance or greater that I was missing most shots, even when feathering, whereas I miss less with the Lewisgun. Also to my recollection, the MG wasn't that good when it comes to hip firing, which is my usual playstyle as I like to play up close & personal as opposed to hanging back & picking my shots. Die more, but it's more fun - for me, at least.

Honestly I would actually recommend Conquest first if you're unfamiliar with FPS games, Domination and Team Deathmatch are extremely fast-paced and can be unsettling to a newbie

Team Deathmatch and Domination are good if you want to learn about the gun play. Conquest is a bit more forgiving for beginners since one person don't have much impact of the game and can just walk around and get a feel for the large scale battles which this series is known for.

I would suggest starting with the Assault class and then move on to either Medic or Support when you get the understanding of team play down since those two classes interact with other classes through resupplies, healing, and reviving.

I think Domination is probably best mode to start with as it's basically infantry only (no vehicles) conquest on smaller maps. The good thing about it is that you get to learn what the game is all about... PTFO (playing the fucking objective). You can also try being Squad leader after a few matches & you will find that it's not complicated at all either as you just look towards an objective letter & hit the spot button on your keyboard (usually Q) to tell your squad that they should focus on attacking or defending that objective/capture point.

Team Deathmatch & War Pigeons on the other hand are both really fast paced games on really small maps. They are good for learning how to react & shoot faster, but you will die; a lot!

#

Conquest is probably the most played mode as it's full size maps with all the objective points available from the get go. There's infantry, land, sea & air vehicles (depends on the map), so it can get a bit chaotic, but it's a lot of fun overall - when you aren't getting sniped from the other side of the map.

I think that would depend on the mode? As attacker on Operations you could stay out of the way & provide cover support for the rest of your team while they take objectives, but how many snipers actually bother doing that, I have no idea. Most just seem to take random potshots at people on the other side of the map. I rarely bother with sniper class as I find it too slow & boring.

I find the shotguns kind of useless. Work great on hardcore as it's 1 hit kill, even from long-ish distances, but standard servers ofter require multiple hits & like snipers they fire slow. Hellriegel & automaticos will rip you to shreds before you can do much damage to a group of enemies if they are aware of you.

I find it hard to shoot anything when you are gunner in a plane. Though it depends on the pilot. Some swoop about randomly all over the place & you end up spending 99% of the time trying to keep the gun aligned.

So a small question, can anyone turn the field cannon (FK 96) more than 180 degrees? The only way I can do it is by for example holding down D to turn right until I can't turn it any more and then aim towards the right and then press A and it will turn beyond that, but the controls for turning left and right are now opposite(Aturns right and D turns left).
