The entire point of the story was that you're actually dead. The entire story from the second level on is you reliving Taylor's memories as a dying dream.
The thing is that Treyarch never actually tried to reveal that twist. You have to look at the scrolling text at the start of each level.
Treyarch is honestly really really good at doing singleplayer stories. Blops 1 and 2 had incredible stories as well as 3 to a certain extent
My dream CoD game would be like: IW on multiplayer, 3arc on singleplayer and co-op, Sledgehammer on sound design.

and somehow they do a lot less damage? in levelcap's video dynamite only does 25 damage to a light tank

in my opinion, the one shot kill with the medical syringe is kinda lame.
DICE could actually make a little animation when reviving or stabbing an enemy with the medical syringe, and if you stab an enemy with it, it would start damaging the enemy soldier slowly, like a poison effect.
