I gotta say that BF1's gun balance makes it feel more like a WW2 game (BF1942-1943). DICE's ww1 idea was originally rejected by EA because "it's not fun to sit in a trench all day" so they had to rebalance it in favor of fun gameplay. Just like Matimi0 said, they're in 50:50 situation
Of course all guns are correct for that period
but weapons like AM1918 or MP18 only appeared at the last year of the war
and semi-automatic rifles weren't used at all
in favor of cheap and easy-to-produce bolt action rifles
one gun that so some combat use mid war was Russian Fedorov rifle (technically world's first assault rifle)
but I have no idea in what group of guns you can drop it
maybe for Assault as he has the most aggressive guns (SMGs and Shotguns)
Also the preset system is really weird, as I would rather have my own presets (aside from one's made by the developers)

Dice fucked up Battlefield 1 should have Just been Called Battlefield and then they could merge bf4/hl/1 into a single game that you launc from whereever and swap between modern/historical.

Rx 480 is comparable to GTX970. Maybe worse. I feel like getting a 1070 would be good investment. I have a 970 at the moment.

rx 480 is pretty much on par with the 970 in terms of performance, and the card has actually been having a lot of trouble for a lott of people, probably due to shit amd drivers (like always), the only thing that it wins is that its cheaper.
only worth upgrading to 1070 from 970 if the person is also upgrading in resolution from 1080p to 1440p, or if they really really really really want the fps boost in 1080p, which then id just get a 980ti which are going to eventually be cheaper than 1070s, just gotta wait couple of months

and stock OC to see how it stacks up against cards that have been out already
but AMD has a track record of improving performance agross generations nvidia seems like it starts to cripple cards in newer games by intentionally not optimising for older gens (unless its gamebreaking ibviously)

Just because there are submarine sound files or any models in the game now doesn't mean they'll be released.
The original Counterstrike Beta when I started playing had a model of a chainsaw in the files.
