Havent tested it myself yet, but apparantly this is how to roll back and play on the old build; 1. Identify the Target Build (SteamDB)
To roll back, you need the Manifest ID of the version that was working for you.
Launch Build (Feb 27, 2026): Manifest ID 5691830764668778509
Current Build (Mar 4, 2026): Manifest ID 8674163206011888002 (This is likely what broke your setup).
2. Use the Steam Console to Roll BackYou cannot do this through the standard Steam UI. You must use the console:
Press Win + R and type steam://open/console, then hit Enter.
In the Steam Console, enter the following command (using the Launch Build ID as an example):
download_depot 3764200 3764201 5691830764668778509
Steam will download the old files. Once finished, it will show a path (usually steamapps/content/app_3764200/...).
Copy the contents of that folder and overwrite the files in your main Resident Evil 9 install directory.
3. Prevent Auto-Updates
Once you have rolled back, Steam will try to "repair" the game immediately.

I've managed to improve in-game HDR's contrast/washed out look via Nvidia filters
The brightness/contrast filter lets ya adjust exposure, highlights, contrast, shadow, gamma etc

It was simple you just run one command that downloads the old update files and then just copy and paste it into your current installation and overwrite the new files. Then you disable steam from updating the game until you launch it from steam. Then You just run the game exe straight from the installation folder so it won't update since you're not running it from steam. It seems complicated but it's pretty straight forward.

Native HDR is already very good, just have to go -20, +20, -5 in settings. RenoDX takes it up a few notches of course, praise Musa, but the game is very good as is nevertheless.

To me RTX HDR is just a better take on SDR. Though even then I'd rather adjust in game native HDR via filters than resort to that

Just installed the hotfix 595.76 and got my Excellent score back in Steelnomad. Voltage cap removed and Core Clock cap (3000) removed. 5080. Waiting on REFramework update to test RE9, but seemed to be back at normal.

Has anyone managed to enable the RT tweaks with the latest nightly version of REFramework on RE Requiem? For me it causes flickering. (last nvidia hotfix drivers)
My friend has the same curve and uses the SFF model of Gigabyte (white, i think windforce). I made this curve and use PNY non rgb non OC. Works on both. Some cards can go more aggressive (3150MHz, 3200MHz at 975mV) I am at 3100MHz and it runs 14-16% faster than stock.

What are your temps like? I have a PNY 5080 and I feel like the cooling on mine is worse than others. It quickly reaches close to 70c and around 45% fan speed at only 300w, which isn't terrible in a vacuum

I really can't complain, especially compared to my 4090 - it runs cooler, spins slower and is more efficient. If it is at 100% load, of course it reaches around 67-70, but never spins the fans faster than 1500 rpm. When OC only at 1050mV the fans spin up to 1900 rpm

So, I generally use Rivatuner to cap games, in RE9, I cap at 120 fps and enable Vertical Sync in Program Settings in Nvidia Control Panel to fix screen tearing. Otherwise I just set it at around 114 and usually have no issues (with FG on, it uses 60-80% load on the GPU like that, 120 Hz OLED).

Starting area:
- DLSS Balanced 58 - 74. (avg around 63)
- DLSS Performance 70-100 (avg around 74)
I eyeballed it, though. Didn't do a proper benchmark. Just walked around the starting area and watched the FPS

And when i play on 4k dlss performance i feel like itās most of time more than 70fps without using framegen
If i try to use framgen on perf or balanced i often get screen tearing even with vsync on, because then fps is above my tv 120hz refresh rate

it is a Reshade addon just like Renodx, it is developed for the sole cause of working hand in hand with Renodx which for example SK usually wont
it gives you automatic options which are divided by your max refresh rate but if you want most fps:s you just click "VRR Cap"

this is actively being worked on, it actually functions without reshade these days but I have not used it like that myself yet

Anyone have success with the latest Requiem patch + latest REFramework nightly + RenoDX on Proton? REFramework alone loads fine but once I add in Reshade the screen goes black with a half rendered MangoHud overlay. I can see it start to load the OSD of REFramework and Reshade but it gets stuck there. I've got HDR enabled in-game, just tried setting Windows 11 in Winecfg, simplified my command line args to just enabling HDR and the Wine detection fix.

one thing I've noticed is that I have a profile for RE9 where I forced VSync on, and the weird part is that the profile still remains even after running DDU
yeah I have those flags and they are applied. I originally imported the profile manually and then had to reset once the OTA update was pushed (this was before the hotfix). Maybe I could try deleting the profile entirely and installing the driver again. It will be these 2 I believe @dense vortex

For some reason for RE9 I need to go as low as setting a 100fps limit or I still get some minor tearing at the bottom of my TV @120hz with VRR enabled on 5090 with 2x framegen. 100% smooth only at 100fps.
A limit at 120fps and vsync means you are waiting for sync and this is introducing latency as a frame gets buffered no? Try 100fps limit, fixed the sync issues.

You can use gsync without flicker. But I had to disable vsync in the nvidia console and just limit fps with rivatuner not with the nvidia console in order to get rid of 99.9% of the flickering, vsync is the culprit here. You will get screen tearing when your fps limit is above 100fps though so try once to limit to 100 and compare the smoothness to 114fps, test turning in hospital lobby and test the flickering on curtains in guard office save room.
Not really. Latency is more than ok and the screen tear is happening at any FPS in RE9 specifically - 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, in-game cap, combined with riva etc nothing worked

Dont want to downgrade for one game and lose all other usually good game profiles, but maybe as a last resort. Alternative is playing without framegen, with latest driver the 5090 can manage like 80 fps in 1440p with PT.
Vsync fast minimised this for me, flickers like crazy with vsycn on or off in nvcp, also tested with low latency mode on/off/ultra but this didn't seem to matter

Then started it with your fix, day snd night difference, contrasty image, it pops, i swear this companies should hire you guys for HDR work! Leon's gameplay is nice, but I'm not a huge fan of the visuals when you play as him in Raccoon City. I get that it's the setting but after the crazy detailed interiors with Grace and even those short segments with the detailed city streets at the beginning it shifts to just a ruined city, which feels a bit underwhelming for me visually

I think design choice was not the best cause I believe the game originally was very different form what we got
I also noticed a lot more issues with the path tracing image quality once I switched to Leon in Raccoon City. I'm playing in third person as Leon and everything is much brighter, plus there's a lot more movement and action on screen, so the boiling effect, smearing, and other artifacts are way more noticeable
I still really enjoyed it though the gameplay itself was great

The initial RC section was ||a few linear sequences nearby each other and it let you pick the order you did then in, with a couple opportunities of backtracking with key items for extra goodies. It was hardly an "open section" in the bloated open sense, plus a couple of the combat sequences had nice little short lived gameplay hooks for some variety, I thought RC in general was a cool part of the game||

Using ddu helped, as usual..lol. My fps went back to what it was on 581.41 (if not 1-2% higher in some areas) but frame pacing is noticeably better, it's pretty damn smooth, no flickering either

display commander can turn off reflex altogether if you want to test

capped right below the reflex vrr cap for me (so 114 instead of 115), I also have safe mode fps limiter on but not sure if it makes a difference. Also I can maintain that 114 fps all the time, dunno if this doesn't work if you dip below
I used to have pretty big stutters quite often from the start of the game and they were definitely gone ever since I got DC working that way
I seem to get alot of VRR flicker with DC. Shame since capping with DC seems to have removed some if not all of the stutters
