I had to mod out Mr X in RE2R after a couple of hours because that shit became unbearable to me.
The first handful of times I was like okay cool, it’s surprising/spooky, sure… but you quickly realize it’s really nothing but an annoyance that’s just bothering you/slowing you down…
When you hear the dude coming and all you can think of is “urk, here we go again, having to circle around the map until the script decides to spawn him off…”, we have an issue lol

RE3R actually did it better for me, i.e. similarly to the original games with planned in advance encounters instead of a constant pestering

The Xenomorph, despite having similar-ish flaws as Mr X, in the sense that it's obvious that the game is fucking with you at times by openly guiding the monster to you, is designed to be an actual threat

So they designed the flow of the game around that

You can fight it to temporarily incapacitate him, for literally no rewards compared to the original game, nice one Capcom. Again, they brought that back in RE3R

You can talk multiple hits, and he's not really fast
Compared to the Xenomorph that will get you 95% of the time once he's really onto you
So mentally speaking, you don't even perceive Mr X the same at all
He was the equivalent of someone constantly poking you on the cheek or shoulder when he was appearing for me lol

though I did make it through alien isolation

The stutter/lag with this new REFramework is kinda insane, happens really frequently and it should be treated as an alpha imo. Not really usable if you're trying to enjoy the game for your 1st playthrough. Regardless, excited to see further developments of REF.

- If you’re using PT then you’re not using DLSS 4.5

Is there a way to remove that awful film grain? I tried editing the config.ini but its still there. I'm not sure but it seems like PT is also very noisy in this so it might be just a mix of those. Don't know which one is worse

it's not like shader compilation stutters or traversal ones, it seems like game loading assets sometimes which results in brief stutter very similar to village but not that frequent. May be related to some settings/different drivers

It doesnt have an option to toggle fov on/off with a keyboard key like the fov fix mod from nexus, you have to open the menu and turn it on or off

Hi there, think I might have missed something. With Reno and REFrame, I cant get the reno menu to show when pressing home in game. I get Reshade menu, and the Reno addon is in the addon menu, but the usual Reno menu is not appearing. Latest Reshade version, and game is running in borderless mode.

Tbh I was having micro stutters before using reframework. If it's reframework the stutters aren't micro (they last like 10 seconds, but they are fixed now)

In general, never use any mode other than game mode, just copy FM settings and enable HGIG
I also think there's a difference between input type for how FM works, on my CX, FM worked a bit differently in PC mode vs console

then again xefg generally feels better than fsrfg in most cases
I really miss LG man, the S95F after being configured as best as it can, really can't beat it. But LG's TVs overall are just way better products

The OS is buggy, sometimes it switches to game genre auto. Happens every week or so. The home menu is so bloated and filled with so many ads and recs, LG at least let's you disable that. There was also a bug that caused HDR output to go full grey-scale, needing hard reboot, rare, but happened at least 3 times for me. Also color space auto is bugged, in order to get back color luminance, you need to bring color down to 20, Normal for Color Space, BT.2020 for gamut. The end user wouldn't know that without online help

I've noticed that PC input mode has strange quirks, such as SDR color space oversaturating upon TV reboot. Hitting the home menu and going back it fixes it.

Same settings in FM mode, same settings in game mode, the only difference, FM crushes a wee bit, +2 shadow detail is optimal. Game mode HDR, it tracks a wee bit brighter with HGIG cuz it locks itself to genre standard, setting it to -1 there seemed to level it out, so now both modes look perfect

yea i was getting a lot of boiling at the start with the default dlss but a bit further in it got less distracting
also I switched off frame gen and I'm now using DLDSR + DLSS and image seems way more stable this way

Re9 doesn't rlly have that much of a black floor lift, dark scenes do get dark, but the way color grading tonemaps in brighter scenes, things end up looking grey/hazy in those scenes. Then there's the fact that highlights are compressed.

It operates on similar wattages as the Steam Deck, but due to the smaller battery, it lags behind it in battery life which is funny cuz that thing is x86. And a lil more juice would allow a lil more watts, and the performance would get even better
