I feel like lighting is very dependent on the area you are in. This was with the renoDX version from monday, the one that disabled auto white balance and has an issue with the vanilla value for flame saturation, so no lighting mods were used. I have scimmed through some messages here and it seemed like you guys were using another version to make night time much darker

so reno is the addon64 file, and let the be light is a mod that increases the game's fire/lights brightness and radius, so if you use reno and dont like how dark it is at night, you can either turn the "Improved Auto Exposure" off or keep it on if you like dark nights and i recommend installing the lights mod too
someone could check to confirm if it is a problem with the game or with my PC pls

I think you might have missed the context. I don't use snipping tool for screenshots, at least gaming. ReShade or SK, of course. I use SKIV specifically for viewing and if necessary converting but to take the shots? not sure how that would work.

Dragon's Dogma 2 with enabling PT in the engine through Graphics Suite, DLSS 4.5 with preset L is impressively good at getting rid of the noise.
Did an entire playthrough like that mainly using the "hybrid" mode since there was some quirks with full PT at times.
Problem with this game is that a lot of the noise is from the game itself and not just from RT (play rasterized for instance and you'll see what I mean). 😄

Ngl, Performance Mode on DLSS aint it, better running RR with FG X2 and Dlss quality.

Very likely the case, saw that even 5700X3D & 5800X3D bottlenecks the 4070 Super at times in this game during certain scenarious.

And unlike the stupid Windows snipping tool, SKIV is smart enough to tell when SDR content is on screen in HDR and avoids tonemapping, it can do a lossless reversal of the DWM's scaling.
For real HDR content, it can store it in HDR or tonemap to SDR (much higher quality than snipping tool)
RenoDX is a lifesaver. Traveling and playing on my laptop with a crappy IPS screen, increasing adaptive contrast by a little bit and saturation by quite a bit really helped!!!

I went from a i7 8700k to 9800X3D in August, used the same 4070 Super with the same screen, at native it wasn't bad and most of the time 96-99% on the GPU.
But the moment I tried using upscaling, the CPU held me back lol.

Auto exposure isnt controlling that, what Pearl did was "optimise" by not using lighting
but instead relying on auto exposure for lighting
which is why uncooking their auto exposure
made interiors darker

OK so I think I have a clue of what is happening. Pearl has also turbo boosted raster IBL as a solution for lighting however it is really bad and makes dawn / dusk overly bright. There will be no sun out or shadows anywhere yet the terrain is all light up unnaturally with lighting???
Since I have now adjusted their RT to have more bounced lighting, exteriors look really bad with even more lighting. I will now try reducing their raster IBL (probably from probes)
This way RT + RR + restir is doing the work. Should also fix foliage and co looking unshaded

I just tested a mod that decoupled RR from lighting settings and seem to be getting decent fps RR+ultra lighting
at least to make it "decent" and bearable

Default is D if you haven't altered it, you can change it through NVIDIA App and or the NVIDIA Profile Inspector (prefer this one).
Apparently E is better for a few things but need to disable DoF

I suspect its caused by their raster IBL / skylighting

That's not how GPU memory works. It's best practice to let VRAM accumulate and only clear when it reaches a threshold. Doesn't mean it's a leak
VRAM increasing over time doesn't automatically mean there is a "leak". When you first load in VRAM usage then after playing for an hour, it will be more in most cases.

GPU clocks change depending on which instructions are executed. Same like CPUs who downclock when using AVX512 or something like that.

There was a mod that claimed it did it but it seems to only have unlocked the menu item. It didn't really do anything in the background afaik. Mod is also removed from NexusMods.

So it's a better usage of the existing game's stuff rather than just bruteforcing more rays/bounces

Yeah kind of. I don't think we fully know yet but it seems like the "lighting quality" is just replaced with whatever RR enables in the background. It's just locked to max for the end user to understand that changing the "lighting quality" will not have any influence on the visuals when having RR active because it does something different anyways.

The "cuts" that were made are for personal preference. Dark nights being removed and the aggressive auto exposure system is probably how they solved the complains about "I can't play the game at night it's too dark and too exhausting on my eyes." Yes it looks like shit to us because we're purist but legit most gamers don't care and prefer the easy experience. There's a reason why nights in almost every AAA game are overexposed.
I assure you most devs don't implement this because they want to but because they're told to.

@karmic quest I played through Cyberpunk fine at launch, for me it was less buggy than Witcher 3 at launch, but because the PS4 and Xbox versions were ass (and lets real they always were going to be) the entirety of games media ran with the narrative that it was just broken beyond all repair on everything

No AV at all these days is not a smart move, IMO. But i've spent 20+ years fixing peoples PC's who thought it was.

you know what, as much as ppl hate the loading walking animation, that's competently done graphically at least
the true AV is UAC.. you have the final say on everything
like for all the shit this game has, that loading intro is spotless
so mod it, add in bdo music that would be something. I was looking trough the files and managed to extract them but got stuck reconverting files back to wwise. anyone knows whats the easiest method?
