I've always heard (and set) the 10% value. First i'm hearing this. Then again everything seems variable at this point, there seems to be no firm consensus.
If you run the HDR Calibration tool and just eyeball it, you'll end up with roughly the 10% value.
And Reno reads from that value by default

I found that some shaders use SV_ShadingRate which is per primitive shading rate, I adjusted addon side to force always run 1x1

By blocky lighting I meant the way light is resolved once a light source is introduced (lantern), 1440p DLSS Q model K, that's for sure not the DLSS issue.
Light propagation looks blocky in motion, but I couldn't capture the screenshot of it. Also, all reflective armors look 240p 24/7, all reflections are of extremely low quality, sadly.
RR is not an option without 5090, I'm on 32:9 with 4090 and its not enough to have my preferable framerate.

Can assure it's not ABL. I got plenty of headroom on my S95F and it's dimming a lot of scenes with no reason even on very conservative settings (1500 peaks, 150 game brightness = 0.6 exposure factor) all the time. Its the game doing it. And it sucks, very big time.

Nothing is consistent. Some scenes will be blinding bright while others will just become dimmed like we got a huge cloud passing by. Reno fixes a lot but doesn't get rid of this autoexposure adjustments unfortunately

I have a 3080 and I go from 70+ fps on Cinematic, 1440p DLAA to 30 fps with RR. I don't know if it's a bad implementation or if my GPU doesn't handle it well, but I can't stand FG.

Won't lie, it took me a moment to realize that when you mentioned GX9, you were talking about the 45" right? I was like huh? GX9? But yeah we pretty much have the same panel with slight variances right. Anyways, I think I know what you're trying to say. At first, I had assumed that the display would automatically tonemap what it deserves to be at 1300 nits within a 1.5 window, but I didn't consider it controlling anything past that. Now I'm still new to HDR, but I was playing with Death Stranding 1 and noticed that even past the average 1190 peak nits, everything was more or less the same. I do not know if that's how it's supposed to be, or if it it's because of the monitor. I don't know the actual intended error that happens when you put a peak brightness higher than what the monitor can handle. I'm probably going to stick with Gamer 1 (Low) anyways since i kinda feel like monitors reaching 1000+ is funny anyways, even just 1.5%, so I'm more okay with it being capped at 650 since that's the 10% window avg. according to RTINGs. The 10% average for Gamer 2 (High) is 720. Though, I think you may be right on LG monitors to be capped at 1300 since well, the display does everything for you I guess. Am I getting somewhere?

The 45GX950A has forced tonemapping in HDR so everything above the max brightness of the panel gets tonemapped into the physical capabilities. Make sure you ran on the newest firmware since it fixes the EOTF curve tracking to be accurate which handles the tonemapping. You really should put Peak Brightness on Max with the newest firmware since otherwise you're capped to 400 nits max peak brightness afaik since it follows the True Black 400 standard.
I doubt anything Pearl is cooking will be better

We know that using DLSS also scales the game's textures because the devs messed up. So using Native or DLAA is your best option to reduce the texture issues.

what card? i'm at 4k with a 4090. DLSS4.0 Performance + RR. Sometimes I bump it up to balanced. HUB's recommended settings, mixture of Ultra and Cinematic. Usually in the 70's. Still looks like ass at times but its enough to enjoy myself.
I'm sure this is asking too much but what I would find super helpful is if we could compile a list of the major issues (e.g. pop-in, auto exposure, DLSS breaking textures) and categorise them into: A) definitely can be fixed by mods, working on it B) possibly can be fixed by mods, will take time C) absolutely needs Devs to fix

@tender temple if you have rtx 4080 level card, you can turn on Ray Reconstruction and get over 70 fps. Ray Reconstruction fixes most graphical glitches with the game

RR doesnt use max lighting settings, it does its own thing and there is currently no way to decouple them

Most if not all of those issues are fixed with RR, which means upscaling in most cases (not DLAA) due to the performance cost.
Downloaded reshade again with the addon supported version. Skipped all the extra stuff reshade asked to enable. Plugged the addon folder into the same folder as the exe. Exe and addon64 are both highlighted. Everything alright now? Anything I gotta do with reshade once I am ingame?

press home ingame, change values Peak Brightness to your screen max (e.g 1000) and paper white (e.g 200) - first time skip tutorial and change to the RenoDX tab to change values 🙂 Advanced tab allows you to change other things if you want.

Interesting. Im using my 4070 at 1440p with mostly cinematic settings besides a few tweaks. RR on, dlss balanced and when I disabled FG in game I get some pretty great frame rates now.

hmm seems like it should be running. It looks to me that you have installed Reshade with addon on the right exe and also put the .addon file at the right place. Have you enabled HDR in the game settings menu? Ray Reconstruction is RR btw.

Ye I regret this dogshit ass gpu. Going to RMA it when possible for a 5070 TI. Keeps crashing due to hardware issues according to Event Viewer and a lot of troubleshooting. Despite its value, first and last time I am using AMD for their GPU's.
