RenoDX changes how the native HDR works. If you turn that off, you turn off HDR.

I can open reshade menu, I see renodx tab, can alter the settings, but non of the settings seems to be doing anything
The first build I feel like the sharpening slider was definitely working. This new build I can't tell anymore. 
well maybe, but this file completely useless if you compare it to actual ini which may containt some settings not exposed in game. From that file you only can conclude that devs are geniuses who hard coded DLSS into 5 values and if you try to alter these through NVPI or Nvidia app you will get black image

Doesn't exist, its already set in the game engine itself.
That's why overriding the scaling for RR etc causes the black screen issue as well - as they mentioned.

So I personally play at 4k. What I did was to use DSR 1.25 I believe which increases the resolution up to 5k or around that. And then inside the game I selected DLSS balance. The IQ is cleaner in my eyes

I personally just change the Steam manifest for said game to a random directory and or leave it blank, set it as Read only.
Gets a read error in Steam if it tries to update.
Did this for all my games that I modded a ton, such as skyrim, cyberpunk etc.
Then just set "DIRECTORY\Game.exe" %command%" as the launch option for the game in the Steam library.

I think it's pretty clear from the get go that there is something fundamentally wrong with the visuals in motion. Shadows flickering and changing LODs in front of the player is a big one, the clutter pop in, the noise in interiors or the extreme sharpening it had before the mod. These are decisions that are baffling so I don't see any reason to not judge them
If that were the problem the driver override of LOD bias -1.625 should work but in my experience it changes nothing. Seems to be a deeper issue.

the extreme sharpening may be due to how poor image quality is on consoles
so blurry they need to sharpen the image to make it "4k"

Afaik the RR has a bunch of additional RT functions (more bounce lighting etc), which is why its so intensive.
technically RR turns on RESTIR and drastically increases the number of RT Samples

from "welcome" download 6.7.1 and RenoDX Build + addon from pinned. install reshade with features as you wish, i skipped all. throw renoDX build file and add on file next to the CrimsonDesert.exe

Ass shadows talked about Stochastic Transparency & Alpha. I took their principle and then we applied IS-FAST
Instead of using hard alpha testing, each fragment is accepted or rejected probabilistically based on its alpha value
Its also cheaper for RT anyhit since you avoid transparency accumulation

I get 45-50 base fps with 2x fg and RR at 5k x 2k dlss balanced on an RTX 6000, pretty not good performance lol but it runs - game scales terribly with resolution too

4090 here and works great. RR Performance from 5120x2160 with 2x FG about 80-100 FPS depending on scene.

well, its because the game is insanely noisy in general and 4.5 has weaker temporal denoising but drastically improves everything else

4070 Ti Super here. There's not enough difference between ultra perf and perf over not having RR on (tons of instability in shadows), so I settled with ultra perf on 4K with framegen to get an average 80fps (and it looks very good)
because without it, any sort of lighting is a sizzling mess

TLDR
I reverse engineered their custom data structures using claude, built a tree viewer, extractor, decryptor and decompression tool
Reverse engineering the encryption was quite painful, I used https://github.com/Ekozmaster/Vibe-Reverse-Engineering to find encrypt/decrypt/init function hooks, then found the functions for loading resource files, and then made a script that launches the exe and hooks into all of the resource loading and encryption functions, then I extracted 4000 keys
optiscaler works with renodx also. just use winmm.dll for optiscaler and required dxgi=false inside optiscaler.ini

That's how I do it, though they have pretty aggressive compression on screenshots.

ReSTIR just makes sure to do RT more efficiently. It uses previous frames and neighbouring pixels to get a better result before the denoiser acts.

ReSTIR should have similar performance but better image quality depending on scene.
If you disable it, in theory upscaling will work better
whatever they are doing is making RR far too expensive
ReSTIR especially works better when there's not that much light and most of the scene is illuminate by bounce lighting.

Honestly I've never had a game grow on me this much
You can just skip the shaders etc if you only want to use RenoDX.
Also while in-game, open Reshade and uncheck "Generic Depth" & "Effect Runtime Sync" under "Add-ons" (that is if you are not planning on using any extra effects).
Oh yeah by the way that no hud mod has a dxgi from an old version of reshade for some reason, you dont need it

DLAA is native but DLSS for antialiasing, while FSR is usually just straight up upscaling (unless its FSR Native etc).

Got around to updating for the RE9 driver when it came out, big mistake - my entire PC hardlocked while playing RE9 and 2 out of 3 GPU fans were spinning after that.
Was enough driver beta testing for me lol, wiped with DDU - sticking to 591.86 a long time now since haven't had issues with it. 
(was sarcastic, black screen = cant see issues anymore 😛 )

you can use shadertoggler to "fix" the parallax occlusion mapping. left is the default with dlss quality and no RR
Boss fights can be incredibly unfair and stupid because of controls. The game can sometimes feel like "Hey let me search 15 minutes for what to do because they didn't tell me anything".
If it works the game is truly amazing but when it breaks god it's frustrating.

the best thing I can say about the game visually is the environment after it rains - the way puddles collect and look on materials, especially wood, is very nice
