Not sure yet, I kinda want to play a couple smaller games before I play something big again
Been playing W3 since end of November, only just now about to finish it
yea thats fair
the indiana jones game is really good and not too long but pt and renodx dont work correctly so i think ill wait to finish it. i got deep with the native hdr using pt but native hdr in it is kinda meh
been playing the wolfenstein games on the side because theyre not super long either

Second Preem LUT. It's beautiful.
Preem LUT 3 has been my go to for a while
Combine that with a little reshade preset and you're gold
Try midpoint 1.
I think the modlist I was trying only had Preem1 ? With like 5 shadow boost versions š
That was Preem 3.
Hm
Yeah I didnāt like that one with Reno either
I use midpoint 1 iirc
Since thatās what youāre supposed to run with Reno
the modlist should come i think only with preem and nova, or only cyanide's luts from what i remember
unless he changed it back to all
Don't feel forced to use a LUT either btw. I went through like 4 different LUTs before settling on Preem
The WIP reno doesn't look bad with vanilla if you configure it a little
Well I donāt feel like using anything since I canāt run FG with these artifacts

yea i mean my fav was nova 3 or preem 3 with reno adjusted somewhat to my preference, or vanilla lut with reno 60/60 like in the pinned message
Waiting for AMD gpu driver issue fix before trying a Cyberpunk playthrough.
still don't know what happened with that
was it obvious in motion?
feel like screenshotting with FG is always going to be a little wonky based on what I know about it (which isn't much tbh)
Extremely
Even worse than the images honestly
oof
It reminds me a bit of bad screen tearing just only around hdr highlights
i saw it on the video u sent before, very weird
Real Color 4, and nova lut 2.0 PURE are nice, i agree the rest look bad.
u can try vsync and special k native pacing settings maybe
and rr preset E possibly with latest dlls if u havent already
i did try different fps limiters including rtss reflex and frontedge, driver cap, using preset D with latest dll as its regarded as the best
hmmm
i just remember something like this happening to me before
i just forgot what it was

Try with a fresh install and my bet is that it won't happen, then you can pinpoint what's causing that.
My gut tells me it might be U+ though š¬ .
But if anybody reports the issue... That update might never come.
you had that issue on the latest build of u+ from their server? i wanna go see for myself if i also have it
8.0 sumn
ill try for myself, was it just moving the camera and looking at highlights, nothing specific?
well i was only in the corpo lifepath beginning sequence
can be seen here with like the bright 2077 text for example or the bright lightstrip
this one
which in motion turns into something like that lmao
edge of that advertisment as well
Not in Cyberpunk but this looked very similar so might be a good to take a closer look. Lazorr added a RenoDX compatible setting for that mod after he and RenoDX modder both worked their magic.

Lazorr and Sammi are both amazing modders so I have hope
Sammi is adding a VRAM counter too I saw
which is nifty
@formal orbit which PT modes did you try? Does the FG issue happen with PT turned off?
-# apologies if someone already asked that
How on earth are you getting this? I donāt get it at all
Uh thatās nice
is real color 4 not supported for lut switcher?
realcolor 4 is the one in lut switcher pack. real color 3 isnt available for lut switcher
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/16156 its in this pack
ah i see that now
tyvm
np i was confused about it too at the start
sucks that realcolor 3 isnt for lut switcher cuz i wanted to try it, some people say its better
could always not use lut switcher for a bit to test and take some screenshots before with 4 and then the same spots with 3 and compare
yeah youre right, i was just too lazy to do that xd
lmao fair
what settings do u run with this lut @minor compass if u dont mind me asking
with realcolor? i dont actually use it, i liked preem3/nova3 or just vanilla lut
oh and i also liked emotional vision a lot
Speaking of LUTs, what is everyones thoughts on EVO LUT? I found EVO 1 and 2 way too contrasty, EVO 2 - Night City way to blue. EVO 3 however was really nice with RenoDX, looks very similar to preem 3 except a little more contrast.
I did a LUT switcher 2 blind LUT test last night
highly recommend
vanilla was number 1 lmao
at least from the LUTs I tested
most LUTs look like crap with HDR / Reno so it's not hard to see why vanilla came out on top
I'm adding a section to my Cyberpunk guide on how to use it but instructions are listed in the description of the LUT switcher mod itself as well
Where did EVO rank?
Oh I see
you have to pick the LUT packs you test
Nova LUT 3 HDR has like 10 LUTs for each color temp
so testing them all would be a lot
at this point, I prefer to make my own ReShade preset anyways
so the LUT I pick is more of a baseline to start with
Yeah I have a bunch that I constantly switch between, just wanted to hear what others thought about EVO 3 specifically since people were talking about what LUTs they liked with Reno. I personally really like it. Check it out if you have a chance
Preem LUT 3 with Reno is still my favorite
I am going a little bit crazy with the constant switching though... I should just remove LUT switcher and install one LUT and stick with it lol
switching LUTs is part of the fun
it's ok to not be ok with what LUT you like
just consider it another mod you're switching out
I went from GITS Fuji to Real Colorr IV to Preem LUT 3
Problem is I want to play, but every time I launch the game I just end up sitting there swapping LUTs for hours like a maniac haha
Bro I did the exact same thing GITS Fuji to Real Colorr IV to Preem LUT 3 and now finally to EVO3
i did the same a few weeks ago, also had vanilla at number 1 lmao, says a lot
is lut scaling at 65 and sdr eotf emulation more accurate than lut scaling 100 and ui/menu only?
idk what to use
hello folks, started with cyberpunk 2077 na few days ago, my first run i already installed reno and it works i guess, anything crucial im missing? i see your talking much about LUTs whats that?
RenoDX has a LUT included already but there are other LUT's as well, RenoDX looks perfect on its own IMO
renodx doesnt have a lut lol
i think its just the vanilla default lut from cyberpunk devs themselves
btw LUT stands for Look Up Table. It's used for color grading.
You can find different LUT mods to replace the vanilla LUT (or use LUT switcher that allows you swap between them with the click of a button). They're not really necessary but a lot of people, including myself, use them to change the look further.
they're often fun to mess with for screenshots as well
I saw "LUT'' in the RenoDX settings, that's what I meant
May i see pics in hdr from vanilla and your fav LUT sir?
you can change the strength of the LUT using the Reno settings or completely turn it off. Which you might want to do if using ReShade to do your own colorgrading
yeah I can take some later. I don't have any good ones of vanilla vs my favorite LUT now (Preem LUT 3 btw)
Do those LUT mods play along with the reno settings eg proper hdr
depends on the LUT
a lot of LUTs don't particular like HDR and some LUTs will require more fine tuning in Reno than others
Is this something like tw3 lighting mods where some do play along and some look like shit with proper hdr?
partially. If the LUT wasn't designed with HDR in mind then that plays into it. But everyone has their own opinion on what LUT looks good to them as well so that's another part of it
I'm going to be adding a section on LUTs to my Cyberpunk guide in the next couple days as well
I also need to upload my ReShade preset I made to the Nexus
the LUT you pick will also depend on what other mods you're using
Aah i see ty for the explanation.
Btw im playing the game without mods, are there any must have mods (visual improvements) that dont introduce lesser perfomance or bad dlss bevahiors ofc
Looking forward
Ultra+
if there's one mod you should get it's that one
I'm biased because I'm on the Ultra+ team but it adds new graphics modes, performance enhancements, etc
it's good for both low end and high end hardware
they make mods for a lot of Unreal Engine games as well
Ik i used it for Expedition 33 really liked it
Cant play this stupid ass game without key binding mod
"i am super enhanced cyber mercenary but i can only use a single type of grenade :("
and some game designer thought that optical camo should be mutually exclusive with grenades and arm laucher š
Custom Quickslots is a must-have for that š Especially with controllers
ah
We don't
so
which is better
and also why is the debug graph on by default on the pinned one

this is confuse
Pinned is the latest one

I get it trust me lol
Also cyberpunk and ddu errors are horrible
Game is so sensitive to overclocking, undervoltage, if you took a nap today, etc š¤£
anecdotal but i was having this issue with the Nexus Mods version of RenoDX- full transparency, I have NO idea what I did to fix it. Fugged around with Ultra+ settings, disabled RenoDX, reinstalled, problem gone. But it was literally the exact same issue (blocky artifacts on bright objects when moving). Just wanted to throw it out there for the record.
what in the washed outness is this
i just followed the cyberpunk hdr guide didnt change anything just the steps im told, did i forgot anything?
It follows the sdr path so it looks less vibrant than vanilla hdr
Itās normal
You can put 60 to contrast and saturation I think it was? And that should match hdr
Not sure about the values tho, check this chat they are here somewhere
Yep itās pinned #1434377434022809610 message
i really thought tw3 hdr was compilcated but this time it seems that i need to study hdr because after that post they re discussing other values and with much of special words for special values that my brain shuts down
I'll have to add those to the guide as well
Cyberpunk is a PITA
partially because it's so heavily modded most of the time
preview
had to post the meme
Which LUT should I use???
Whichever one you want
I am adding details about some recommended settings etc but the opinions about LUTs in this game
-# the meme may not be there on release, but for now it's keeping me company while I edit this
Was going to take my own comparison images for this but you did such a good job I felt no need. Gave you credit for figuring this out š
squarto
also it was Gn3xus that put me onto this, I didnt really find this without him
bruuuuh
my issue was this shit all along
for some reason i didnt have this hdr sat set to 0
is 0.3 default or sumn?
i had the game uninstalled
0 is default
how tf did i mess this up then
it was 0 before i uninstalled it
then when i reinstalled it a few weeks ago i only set paperwhite and peak
im so confused
Me paying off the Rothschild's to bork your HDR
For some reason my reno settings are no longer being saved
What version of Reshade you on?
any good way to disable eye adapation in this game
I might be stupid but why does the game force 1000 nits peak when I look in the sky when I have max nits set to 470
do u have the wip renodx version pinned in this channel? also idk if this is true but i read nova city 2 helped with this or rather just exposure being bad in general but idk. test and see or see what someone else says here
Is the map being blown out fixable?
Can someone using nova lut 3 lifelike, nova city 2 and ultra plus mod share their renodx settings please? Ever since I downloaded ultra plus the tonemapping option kinda ruins the game for me because it makes dark areas completely dark and daylight scenarios overexposed and too bright so that's why I downloaded renodx and could mitigate some of the issues but still can't get a good set up.
Env tunner might help
Got that one too but still can't get a decent set up it's more that I don't really know what I'm doing and kinda messed every setting available lol
Try out Preem LUT 3
Nova LUT 3 requires a lot of tinkering to get right with Reno
just recommend Preem because it's easier to setup š
I'll try it would you say it's in the "realistic" side?
It's not something that's in the fun LUT category, but realism is subjective
but that being said take a look at some of the screenshots I've taken in #š¼ļøgallery and you tell me š
also I have a ReShade preset made for Preem LUT 3 that enhances the look https://discord.com/channels/1296187754979528747/1462028030305370317
currently posted in the Ultra+ server but I'll post it on the Nexus as well when I make a Nova LUT version
If I download that preset will it set renodx automatically?
everything you need to know is in those PINs over there, but I just use the defaults for the most part in Reno, other than LUT strength set to 50, and peak brightness setting to what your display can support
also read my cyberpunk Reno guide as well
if you haven't already
it's pinned in both servers in their cyberpunk channels
Thank you i just changed to preem lut and downloaded the reno wip and it now looks much better

@maiden oasis i may have found the REAL real culprit behind the crushed blacks issue I was having, and for some reason it was having HDR10+ Gaming enabled
within the game options i mean
my game looks flawless now with it disabled
should note I AM using this with stuff like ReLUX and Nova City 2 as well as Reno so I've no clue if they interact in such a way that accelerates the black level
I use both as well
Nova City 2 does make it darker
can you take a screenshot of the HDR10+ setting for me so I can include it in the guide?
im already out of the game goin to bed shortly
all good
no hurry anyways. If you think of it I would be grateful, as well as a before/after picture. But just including that info in the guide should be good enough
does it makes sense using this mod with reno?
if you're using path tracing absolutely
I use both that and Nova City 2
i love and hate cdpr for the 2 same reasons, they always do thos 99% ultimate nearly perfect rpgs, but on the other it really pisses me off that they dont reach that 100% without mods, and even with mods there is always something that blocks the 100% same goes for witcher, and while this is my first cb2077 run i immediately realized the same pattern
If you look at the game like a Fallout or Skyrim type deal you'll be much better off
don't focus on the flaws, just enjoy the ride
download some mods and have a good time
in that respect Cyberpunk is one of the most moddable games there is
vanilla Cyberpunk still isn't bad, especially after 2.0
we just happen to hyperfocus on the flaws in these types of servers
yea if you think of ,,good,, and ,,bad,, hdr you are already to deep into the rabbit hole š
niche of niches
for me it's the most fun I've had taking screenshots in a long time
yea tw3 was my first reno game and also the first one where i started documenting my journey with cinematic screenshots š never done it before
it's addictive
mod probably needs to be redone with sdr path for that
lut order is after the tonemapper for the map in hdr
Damn, sounds like it would be quite a bit of work then
yea its still amazing vanilla, just a lot better with mods
pretty much every game ever made is better with mods, i think cyberpunk is still extremely good without them
hi, this doesn't seem to save "preset #" selection. Unless I made a mistake somewhere
mine definitely does
are you using the one pinned in this channel
thats the latest version
not the nexus or github one
the "wip" one ? #1434377434022809610 message ?
if yes then no, I'm not using that one but I will
there's a full guide pinned that walks you through the recommended settings
#1434377434022809610 message
@maiden oasis i tried to get you the screenshots you wanted but unfortunately i cant get a good shot that shows the crushed blacks
reshade's screenshots dont show them and they show barely any difference, snipping tool gives BOTH images crushed colors, and so does Steam
so it shows in SDR
best I can try to do is a phone image i guess but
Yah I touched it just to check it was so ass
Nova City 2 got you covered
just beware that it makes some of the places in the game a bit dark so install a flashlight mod maybe
up to you
k
i replied to u
the day you sent it
nova city 2 most likely
ok thanks I saw but fergor to read
guys i swear i have a hard time trying to play this game, really have the feeling that something is not correct with hdr or whatever, its either black crushed or way to washed out in specific areas idk catching myself constantly playing with sliders instead of playing the actual game, is there any essential mod that im missing or anything that would help me get better visual quality?
The issue is nova city lol
Just use vanilla + Reno with contrast and saturation at 60
what? are you sure everyone is recommending that one tho š
Thatās my personal opinion
Make of it what you want. But those issues you describe sound like a LUT/NC2 thing
Vanilla with the settings I told you looks perfect
so this is what does the WIP one .... also same kinda bug around minimap edges
unsure what I did wrong, removing the addon file fixes it
reshade 6.7.1
@tame canopy might want to set debug graph to default to off
It is I think
Just a bug with the c++ implementation
Because I pack 32 on/off states (bits) in one float
And it's being weird about tracking initial state
ahh
had not noticed debug graph was enabled
I even tried deleting reshade.ini to go back to defaults thinking I did something wrong
Anyway, it's fixed
Thank you very much š
midpoint tonemap override, debug graph fix, uploaded to github and nexoos
Btw there's some troubleshooting tips in that Cyberpunk guide I wrote. Goes over most of the issues people run into with it, including the debug graph showing up.
the auto exposure slider doesn't disable that ?
tbh I never tested it
missed it
also when using "reset" debug graph defaults back to ON
that would make sense if its a default setting
that's what the reset button does
I can add a note for that in the guide
won't hurt
also one "interesting" bit
you'd think using the preset "OFF" would disable everything
well not for debug graph
if it's ON, then preset "OFF" will have debug graph enabled as well (which causes the bug)
if it's OFF, then preset "OFF" will have it OFF
which is all the more confusing when the slider access is fully disabled in the "OFF" preset
like ShortFuse said it's a bug, its supposed to be defaulted to off
side effect of it being a WIP / Test version
yeah but let's imagine someone turns it on (who knows why), it's still weird that the "OFF" preset inherits that setting & that setting only
I think it's actually two separate issues in one
any LUT recommendations that go well with this?
Preem LUT 3 is my go to for RenoDX because it doesn't take much effort to setup. Maybe put the LUT strength to like 50
A lot of people like Nova LUT 3 as well, but it requires more setting changes within RenoDX and seems like ENV Tuner is also needed to get the highlights to behave themselves with it.
I do recommend using LUT Switcher 2 though, because it allows you to change LUTs without restarting the game
I disliked Nova City 2 myself, tried it for a while because I was annoyed at the constant exposure changes
and since Nova LUT is made for it ....
I use Nova City 2 and Preem LUT 3
Nova City 2 has amazing weathers
it's how I get my screenshots to look so good
yeah i was also using Nova City 2, i'll try preem ty!
setting the strength to 50, is this done through the LUT switcher or?
Is the wip still the needed or the snapshot from january is the one that should be downloaded?
Via RenoDx
WIP
@maiden oasis how are the black levels with nc2 und preem lut3 combined or are there any downsides to hdr?
r u using this too? on top of reno?
I use my own preset
I've been meaning to post it on the Nexus
Nova City 2 will make interiors / nights a bit darker. This may or may not be preferable depending on your own personal preference. That's why it says to use flashlight and night vision mods
But the black levels themselves are fine
Personally I couldn't play the game without NC2
think this does a good job of showing what it can do
the same applies with HDR
so the lighting itself just looks better overall
I do recommend using ReLUX (and it's requirement ReImagined) as it also helps with the lighting
I've gotten a lot of good feedback on that preset too. Sammi (author of the Cyberpunk Ultra+) is going to make it the official Ultra+ ReShade preset whenever I get it posted
prolly not the right place to ask this but, what size limit do you guys use for reBar?
So correct me if Iām wrong as im new to this: you install Nc2 and preem3 both at the same time, on top you use those shaders and on top of that renodx?
all good š
Nova City 2 = in-game lighting / weather
Preem LUT 3 = in-game colorgrading
RenoDX = Fixing in-game HDR shaders
ReShade = Post-processing shaders that are applied on top of everything else.
Regular ReShade shaders don't interact with the game assets at all, just the final image. Whereas RenoDX is using ReShade's addon system, which can interact with deeper systems, to replace the game's own shaders
if that makes sense
so they all do different things and work at different levels
People will also use ENV tuner (lite version) to further tweak the in-game lighting.
Ty i will set this up tmrw as of now i just installed reno, u+, novaLux, nc2, preemlut3 and it lux way better than without these for me, im only missing thos shaders you did post i will add them tmrw
Hi All, i just installed RenoDX for the first time to compliment a lut, i have lut switcher 2 and really like the look of Nova lut 3.0, Preem lut and Nova Pure lut. All of them look pretty bright though (not dark at all). Are there any resources here where i can grab some RenoDX settings people have posted for each of the luts? I'm using a LG C2 OLED, current settings are 800 peak brightness, 1 midpoint, paper white at 200 and saturation at 0
you've come to the right place my friend
I also have the LG C2
Preem LUT 3:
Nova LUT 3 setup someone else shared, just change the peak brightness. For Nova LUT 3 you'll also want to use ENV Tuner (Simple version) and enable highlight reduction, set to 1. The rest in ENV Tuner leave as default
Also are you using the WIP version of RenoDX that is pinned?
Feel free to also check out the preset I shared above (make sure to grab the textures folder from the GitHub repositories mentioned as well, not just the shaders)
Thanks for the details, i'll have a play around with both of them, really appreciate it! Is it normal for it to be bright indoors with RenoDX? In Judy's and Viktors for example there aren't many dark corners and i'm not seeing too many shadows either
are you using Nova City 2?
that fixes the exposure issues
will also make the interiors more realistic in brightness
Yeah i am but i dont have anything specific settings or anything, just installed it and left it as defult
same with me tbh
Hmm ok ill take a look and maybe try reinstalling it or soemthing, see if tha helps
feel free to check out my guide as well if you haven't already š
though most people have issues with it being too dark, not the opposite
also, recommend using Ultra+ with Cyberpunk
they added some new RT and PT modes that can either help performance or boost the visuals more
usually both
Awesome, yeah im a little surprised as well lol never had "too bright" being an issue. I'll def check out your guide. Everything is looking amazing, its just a touch too bright on all the luts
makes sense tbh
that's why I changed the LUT strength to 50 with Preem LUT 3
plus everyone has their own preference on what they like
I reinstalled nova city 2 and that definitely made a difference, thanks for all your help! I'll try out your guide tomorrow as well
You're very welcome š
You will want to be using the renodx pinned in this channel too, if you're not already
Not the one from nexus or github
Thanks for the heads up, i made sure to grab that yesterday. Things are looking darker so whatever i did it seems to have fixed the issue. Now to choose between Preem LUT and Nova 3.0
Hey so i copied your preset but just wanted to check that i got everything setup correctly, i basically downloaded all the shaders and textures from the links that you posted then copied them into cyberpunk root directory --> reshade-shaders --> Textures/Shaders folders respectively then put your preset.ini in the x64 folder and loaded it up in reshade. Have i got that right or did i mess something up? Just want to make sure i installed the custom shaders correctly
https://guides.martysmods.com/reshade/installing/reshademanualshaderinstall
This should help explain it
Not every shader repository is avalible through the ReShade Setup Tool - This guide will walk users through the manual installation process of shader repositories/archives.
Thank you sir, you've been great. The preset looks AMAZING š
thank you so much
i installed it with skipping the addons and created the reshade shaders file manually afterwards
easy fix, reinstall ReShade with the installer, but don't skip the shaders. Just don't pick any other shaders
it'll put in all the helper shaders the other ones use
the non WIP
aah wait forgot that one
btw now I'm using the WIP version but I still have the exact same issue
the only workaround I found is editing reshade.ini to switch around profiles & make the one I want profile #1 ...
I have been using emotional vision lut because preem and nova lut are just.. too bright for my tastes in many areas. Night doesn't look like night with them, but it does with emotional vision.
So, now I am trying to figure out how to tweak things a bit more to look better with renodx and emotional vision. Not sure how to begin.
can you post your reshade.log for me?
will be in the /bin/x64 folder
What are some good locations to visit when tuning various settings?
the easiest one with LUTs is LUT strength and scaling
JigJig street and El Cojo Coyote have a lot of colors to work with as far as LUTs go
Thanks
that's honestly something I need to get a list together for as well
-# the guide is never finished
Dam the darks in this game dont look right unltess I turn on SDR EOTF em to on
I'm going to give you a warning on that setting, be very very careful with it. It can easily make night time look too dark with certain weathers
it does work sometimes but if it ever gets too dark, turn that setting back to UI/Menu only
Well I am on oled so too dark is pixel is off
same here tbh, I have the LG C2
Got an AORUS FO32U2P
Hmm.. curious. As far as env mods go, what do people tend to like using for HDR? I am currently using Natural Californian Lighting Mod for the ENV. Wondering what others are good to try out.
hard to beat Nova City 2
yea i catch myself often enabling sdr eotf, but again there are a few places and scenes where the darks are crushed
CP2077 is by far the worst HDR experience for me, it delivers but too many options for different spaces, probably because the games colour handling i a mess and thats why all this stuff is needed
Do you happen to have recommendations for dark places to tweak things? To tell if blacks are too dark/crushed.
Though, nights in this city aren't supposed to be very dark, it's not the country side on a cloudy night, no moon ....
just my 2 cents š
Well, I meant it felt unnatural in that it was bright enough I would expect shadows, but there were none. lol
do you mind through PMs ?
Can you upload it here?
I don't do DM support
Anyone here have a suggested modlist? Been trying to find one to compliment this
You looking for mainly visual upgrades? Or are also a bit of a overhaul to the gameplay?
Both. I tried 3077 but it killed my performance with RT and flickered my OLED like crazy.. i have a 7900xtx and 7800x3d, 64gb ram
I had hell trying to set up optiscaler correctly and all.. maybe I did things wrong, idk
And then the microstutters started. I gave up lol
forget it, it's not the end of the world, I'll just work around it as I did so far
thank you for your help so far anyways š
really appreciated š
little confused why you won't send the ReShade.log file, but I wish you the best of luck š
@maiden oasis I am trying out your reshade preset for the first time. I like it so far. The key part for me will be when I get to a dark area and I don't have raised black levels. I keep having that issue I feel like with some Nova LUT and Preem LUT in some areas, but maybe your preset will be different.
let me know how it goes š
One big issue with Nova LUT for me too was it made some pink signs pure white.
Preem LUT and Emotional Vision didn't have that issue, but Emotional Vision make reds pinkish.
I usually do further color grading on the top of the LUT, and tweak it further for each screenshot. Think its hard to have something perfect for all scenarios
Yeah, I don't need perfect. Just a good balance so I don't have to weak it constantly. lol
the tough part is when I want to have pure white lights for screenshots
Can someone help me understand why on earth my game has suddenly started to do this? It gets overtly saturated unless I tab but then it returns almost immediately
Happens in sdr too
is RTXHDR on?
make sure that's turned off at least for the game, if not globally
@maiden oasis Alright, that preset is really good. Using it wiht your renodx settings as well and it is better than anything I tried so far.
thank you
I'm going to post it on the Nexus in a few days. Just need some comparison screenshots. Feel free to post any and I'll give you credit
love how a simple preset can make a difference
I am not sure how to screenshot without it getting washed out, due to HDR. lol
just use ReShade š
it'll output HDR PNG
I've done Nexus hosted presets in the past and I have to tonemap them to SDR with SKIV for the actual image gallery, but I can embed the HDR shots in the description or a pinned post. I just need to host them on slow.pics.
Ah ok, I will get some screenshots with reshade when I can.
no pressure, just thought I'd mention it š
Hi, I'm using novalut 3.0 and nova city 2.0. Is this compatible? (screenshots are w/o renodx
Forgive my screenshots. I can't seem to take them in SDR
I haven't installed it yet. This is just novalut and novacity mod and lilium's hdr analysis.
I recommend checking out the Cyberpunk RenoDX guide I wrote, should help a lot https://www.hdrmods.com/Cyberpunk
How to Setup RenoDX in Cyberpunk 2077
also grab the WIP version of RenoDX that's pinned here
I'm not sure why your game looks like that though
but hopefully this fixes it
Bro got the Mcdonalds edition
-# ||deepfried||

RenoDX will fix it š
I appreciate it but troubleshooting shots from your phone don't really help us. We need to see how it looks in game. ReShade is the best way to do this
Phone camera sensors do a bad job of capturing that accurately
Alright I'll try to install reshade
if you read that guide it will walk you through all of that, including ReShade
It won't affect my mods right?
correct
the only thing is you might want to change which LUT you're using
if you're going to use Nova LUT 3, make sure you're using the HDR versions with LUT Switcher 2 (optional downloads below the main mod). I personally recommend either Preem LUT 3 with Reno, or sticking with the vanilla LUT
those whites seem overexposed to me, though I'm not the one to ask what you should do about it....
he took an SDR screenshot. it def looks different to him
why is your screenshot in SDR? Are you taking these with ReShade?
Renodx disabled
Renodx - RenoDRT Tonemapper
Renodx - ACES Tonemapper
Renodx - Vanilla Tonemapper
Forgive me. I believe these are HDR captures now
those look so much better š
I'd just stick with the RenoDRT one if you're happy with it
sorry noob question, how do you even know it's an SDR screenshot ?
was it jus intuition or ???
when you take a screenshot, the hdr screenshot gets saved by reshade at the game.exe location
sdr screenshot is your typical print screen + ctrl-v in discord
i just dragged the image into SKIV and it showed SDR. But i also just saw it from the image itself
can also end up in the overwrite/bin/x64 folder if using MO2
I recommend not installing reshade with MO2 for this reason. You can also change where screenshots are saved within ReShade. I have a set of folders sorted by game name where all my screenshots end up
Changing the screenshot key is also nice so you don't open up the snipping tool when taking a screenshot
yes i def need to do that
if you use Special K then you'll have folders for each game already. I just do that even for games I don't use SK with. That way the folder is there in the future if I do ever use it
tried installing Special K but can't seem to make it work with cp
but if i can take hdr screens with reshade, not sure i need it; only reason i tried
I wouldn't use SK unless you need it
that's not correct
HDR PNGs tonemap on Discord to SDR
How-to guide focused on using ReShade with HDR
that is not what it says
HDR PNGs tonemap to SDR, that is not destroying the info
it is how HDR PNGs work
I do that all the time, if you upload an HDR image to Discord and then someone else downloads it, they can see the original HDR image
even if it doesn't look right on Discord itself
with Hardware Acceleration turned on in the desktop version of Discord, and the SDR Content Brightness slider set to 31 within the Windows AutoHDR settings, then the images will look correct
otherwise on mobile devices you need to fully open the HDR PNGs to see the proper image
the info is not destroyed in the file upload
otherwise that would not be possible
now that is true for other websites sure
hence why imgur, imgsli, etc all suck for HDR
the only image host I've found that is free that works for HDR is slow.pics, but you have to turn off optimize images when you do it, otherwise it will remove the HDR metadata
do not use ChatGPT or other AI sources for HDR info, it's not accurate
even worse for ReShade
so if the image is SDR when we download the file, its because you uploaded an SDR image
this applies to other HDR formats as well, such as HDR AVIF
which looks horrible on Discord unless it's a smaller 8-bit file
this look good in hdr? I went back to my non hdr va panel lol

Please donāt use LLMs *
Hey folks - it looks like when I run the game with this mod, the in-game map gets... horrifying? Like, super white and washed out. Is there anything that can be done about that?
Not really. Mod needs to be fixed
Dang, that's a real shame
Download the realistic map mod. Not ideal if you like the 3D map, but at least that works
-# though it's not 100% perfect either
Unfortunately I really, really hate the look of that map š
I guess rollback to the older version of the RenoDX addon is the best option
Is the map issue likely to be fixed at some point? I'm pretty ignorant about what's easy and what's hard in this space
Not sure tbh
As with a lot of things, it might just be investing the time into the issue
Can you enable this in sdr? š¤ Looks like it increases contrast, is it fixing black level?
no this RenoDX mod is HDR only
this game is the only one where renodx looks so much better than SDR, not only HDR, even the SDR is borked š¤£
so, okay, where can i get started to install the renodx mod in CP2077?
thanks in advance
Just follow the guide and all your dreams will come true š

How to Setup RenoDX in Cyberpunk 2077
Thahnks a lot sir
Its time I put the new monitor to good use hahh
Just wanted to say thank you for this awesome mod, its completely changed my game. Astonishingly beautiful
Oh, what's on the backburner for cyberpunk ?

the psychotm stuff
The other tonemapper Marat is using in UE Extended ? š®
So after Cy's Cyberpsycho's LUT, RenoDX's Cyberpsycho⢠

Can't wait to see what yall been up to
Me too!
Guys anyone with pg27ucdm? Would love to see your settings in hdr cause i cant make it right (im newbie) Or maybe there is a preset that i can copy?
that's awesome!
those colors are much better
that neon
I have the pg27ucdm and I followed the steps from the tutorial article pinned in the thread and it looks great, happy to hear from anyone else
Do you leave your contrast and saturation at 50? or bump them up? I switched to the wip mod and it looks kinda washed out to me.
Shit is this depressing
did you actually play and beat the game? people do that?
I still haven't finished it

have you even played it
I barely started it
rookie numbers
lol, got close to a thousand hours
Which are rookie numbers too by some people's metric
Cy has like more than 5000
my most played singleplayer games are like that
Trying mods out and chilling in since release ? Idk
i'll count poe2 as single player cause i only really play it by myself xd
Cy also doesn't play the game, he mods š
Poe2 release destroyed me, got to 500hrs in 2 months
I have a ton of hours taking screenshots
Or so he says
lol
I'm sure he does play it
Nova LUT 4 when
secretly
when renodx compatible luts
lol

I love it
vanilla is honestly perfectly fine now
Sun kissed each time I boot
cant have shit in detroit
Musa approved

i need to finish sekiro smh
use ReShade, easy fix š
im like at the last 2 or 3 bosses
Sekiro is goated
I think my next game will be FFXV windows edition with proper HDR, the Ps4 release back then was horrible
After 100% cp77 ofc
sekiro is fire
i stopped playing 3 days ago because demon of hatred kept slapping my bootycheeks

Demon of hatred break the game you have to fight like youre playing dark souls, no parry just hit n running in out

Or you just do the glitch š¤£
me trying to get this guide update out sometime today
how do I uninstall Reshade then reinstall? accidentally picked the one that is without addons and picked some kind of pluging or w/e it was
it was auto selected
selected this by accident
you can just do a new install and it replaces the dll.
reshade just installs dxgi.dll, its ini files, and reshade-shaders folder
so if you delete all those that's a full uninstall
You can also run the reshade installer, act like you're going to install Reshade, then when it asks if you want to update you can pick uninstall.
yup did that thanks
just the standard effects
the important thing is to not select unneeded addons, you can technically pick all the effects and be fine
will just lead to longer load times when you start up a game
because there's like 300+ shaders ReShade needs to compile
what the hell is this on my minimap lol
calls aswell
is this a renodx issue or something else I have fucked up
check out the troubleshooting steps in the guide, it'll tell you š
yeah that guide covers just about everything now. Been battle tested
Is the wip mod really needed? The snapshot mod doesn't make the map so bright and it sets the defaults for peak and game brightness better than the wip. The wip was setting my game brightness to 203 and peak to 418, while the snapshot set it to 450 and ~110
the map is the last thing we care about
the map uses a screwed up LUT
I mean itās needed for actual gameplay tho
how screwed up is the map for you?
and it's not gameplay. the game is paused when you open the map
there are also other map luts
Itās pretty blown out. Can be hard making out some areas/buildings
I do get that itās low priority tho, thatās fair
I currently use realistic map to avoid the issue almost completely but that map is just an image. Not 3d
the game has 3 different lut types, so a one shot fix for everything can't work. the map screen is a post tonemap force SDR lut. nothing in the game runs like that
you can probably get away with forcing Lut Processing to Before
to make the map lut function like a normal gameplay lut
at best, i think i try to do something different for lut after systems. but i think the map is the only time it does that.
Hi guys, i'm new here, does somebody know how to fix crazy eye adaptation issue completely, not just reducing transition time?
maybe U+ has an option for it, i know they do for some UE games
It doesnt
there are couple of mods for this. But If u try Nova City 2 it mitigates this in a good way
Did you ever find a fix for this?
A workaround rather, have the rtss overlay already showing when loading the game and keep it showing
Or toggle it in menus
Yeah, that's what I found too. I guess that's the best we can get for now.
What's dlssfix?
An addon ShortFuse made to force reshade to work only on native frames when using frame generation, because dlss 4 fg flickers when upgrading from sdr to hdr in many if not all titles (same goes for xefg and I think fsr fg too)
Bonus of that addon is that even when not needed, it can help with performance a little by reducing the overhead reshade has, especially when dealing with 3x or 4x fg
up to you
I usually just leave it at 400 because I know for a fact it can at least reach that
damn deleted the message smh
sorry i read the guide and it answered my question
Oh nice, could I get a link for it? I can't seem to find anything by looking for dlssfix on Google
Thanks
Where is the link to the RenoDX download? I see the addon in pinned but that's all
nvm
im stupid

Thank you so much for making the renodx file for Cyberpunk. Unfortunately on my OLED the UI's are just too burning hot in this game, and sadly the renodx doesn't include the UI adjustment bar like some other renodx files do in Resident Evil 4, Stellar Blade etc. I tend to lower UI elements to as low as 50 nits. Sorry if the explanation why it's absent should be self evident, I'm new to renodx. š
you can adjust the UI brightness with the Paper White setting in the game's HDR settings
my fault for not including this in the guide š
I'll get that added
Thank you so much! That did the job. š
what's the point of the blowout setting?
to reduce the saturation of the highlights basically
things can look funky if there isn't enough blowout
any mod by shortfuse isn't updated on nexus
so use snapshot
map might just be broken
it is with the WIP version
also color precision setting or wahtever its called
needs to be set to high
you can change the lut order setting
it will make the map not appear fucked
the best looking map with RenoDX is the Realistic Map Mod, but you lose out on the 3D effect
Cyanide's Preem Map mod has the same issue
the 4K version of the map mod has issues so use the 8K version
Never had this map issue, some setting must be causing it
why does renodx not work with the HDR10 scRGB mode? or am I supposed to tweak something else in that case?
not work i.e. the colors are all blown up
HDR10 scRGB is not a thing
they're opposites
and they both work fine, so sounds like something in your setup
Tbf that is how it's labeled in game for some stupid reason
Like let's just confuse everyone

DV
Those shots are in SDR
Double check all your settings to make sure you didn't miss anything
Reference my guide if needed
How to Setup RenoDX in Cyberpunk 2077
do y'all turn off SDR EOTF Emulation?
I keep it on UI Menu only
do you tweak contrast to a higher value then?
I keep my stuff pretty much on default
I have a very minor reshade preset that I apply that sharpens it a bit
I use nova city 2 as well
I also change up which LUT I use
well, I guess it's different on every monitor
on mine, if I set that, then I really gotta bump up the contrast slider to like at least 75-80
otherwise it looks way too "bright", no shadows
If you're cranking the contrast that high, then maybe set the EOTF slider to on
yeah, I do that most of the time, and then contrast to 60
But yeah it'll be different for your display, mod list, etc
It's like that for me with most LUTs, including vanilla
rn I use preem lut, same here
Nova City 2 will make the interiors a bit darker
Preem LUT is nice for general use
But I've been liking the vanilla lut too
same, I only use preem or vanilla
others look like ass
I change the LUTs up for screenshots though
But most aren't the best for hdr
Of course after you apply 6 reshade shaders on top, you can make any LUT look good š
the one I dislike the most is Nova LUT
and yeah, true that
Nova LUT isn't bad at the lower exposure settings, but you definitely need to tweak renodx for it. Maybe also use ENV tuner
yeah, I just didn't want to spend more time tweaking it than I already have
Amen to that
the least maintenance luts are surely vanilla and preem for me
Can you pls share?
Understood, thanks anyway
i have since then opted to just continue using no LUTs
vanilla looks too good y'know
I'm getting these artifacts around HUD elements when looking at bright lights like the sun. RenoDX and Reshade are both current. Any ideas?
When you say current, which version of the addon are you using?
Nexus? Github snapshot? Discord WIP addon that's pinned?
All recent builds exhibit it in some circumstances, never could get rid of it on my end
Easiest to repro for me is using kerenzikov with Skippy's "reticle" right when shooting at a fire extinguisher in a dark room
tried both github snapshot and WIP. Is what Gn3xus saying your experience as well creepy?
Damn
OOF thatās bad
okay arigato
if I want to make the game darker, should I lower game brightness or exposure?
Depends on what you mean by darker
Like increasing contrast will give that effect fect while also increasing the highlights
I'd say that's not making the game darker, it's just increasing contrast
It can make the shadows darker though. Like if I'm taking a screenshot I'll often mess with the contrast.
Now overall brightness you can mess with the game brightness within renodx, which will make it darker
is there any reason to ever touch exposure instead of game brightness then?
I only mess with exposure if the highlights get blown out or the blacks are too crushed
But that's just my experience
For overall brightness I don't mess with exposure
hello, the only renodx mod I wasnt happy about is cyberpunk, rest is perfect, does anybody have recommended settings for this game?
it looks washed out
I like preem lut with default contrast and EOTF only for ui/menu, but only most of the time... I still can't deny that in some scenes, it really has contrast issues - shadows that feel like they should be black just aren't, in some scenes there's zero dark shadows, all look too bright
with default settings too?
hard to say tbh
I kinda like contrast 60 with highlights also at 60
but I'm also seeing it from a virtual photography standpoint
for gameplay I'm not sure I would stick with that
doesn't that cause overblown highlights?
depending on the situation no
but I'm also using other shaders on top
like DoF, filmgrain, etc
I sure can't use filmgrain with LSFG lmao
that would look weird for sure
yea, just like motion blur - messes with FG, produces artifacts which wouldn't be there otherwise
I'm so glad I don't need to use FG. Seems like you have to jump through hoops to get it working with other stuff. and frame gen doesn't like ReShade at all, unless you're doing it post process like lossless FG
FG messes with ReShade's depth buffer
the depth buffer only works on native frames
dynamic resolution scaling also messes with it
but for the average HDR user that's a non issue
my experience with LSFG is great, but only after it is set up...
and setting up LSFG with two GPUs is one of the most complicated and tedious things ever
just about everyone who's done it hates the process
looks even better with a dual GPU setup
yeah, once again now
this time - for LSFG specifically

the strongest GPU renders the game, the second GPU does frame generation via Lossless Scaling
can use FG without losing any hint of performance on the main GPU
and can have quite a bit lower input lag
was doing 60 FPS without FG, still doing 60 FPS with FG, but now FG-ing up to 120
and don't get me started on Adaptive mode... It is the only way to get 240 average FPS, 240 0.1% lows, and 240 0.01% lows all at the same time pretty much
nothing has more perfect frame pacing than Adaptive FG
just wanted to thank you for the massive work into doing all those comparisons & this truely massive guide
I might give nova city another shot, I didn't like it at first
it's really bothersome though that HDR needs such work for a single game
I appreciate the compliment. Nice to know the hard work is being utilized š
I think the length of the guide might make it seem more work than it actually is tbh. The main thing is getting people to use the Discord hosted version, which can be a bit unusual for people are used to just downloading everything from the Nexus.
Add the fact that Cyberpunk is one of the most modded games since Skyrim and it adds another layer of complexity since people will be using different LUTs, lighting and weather mods, etc
so it's not just about getting HDR working, it's also about making HDR work for each individual person
generally speaking, most RenoDX mods are plug and play besides adjusting a few sliders for some UE games
and on that front, I still stick with the mostly default setup for Cyberpunk so the sliders don't really need to be touched unless you're using a LUT that is vastly different from vanilla
or for personal preference obviously
I dunno, for most games I just adjust a couple of settings and voilĆ done, HDR works just fine
here, the base game autoexposure is way overused, some dark environments are wayyyyy too dark (Perfect example in the Voodoo Boys mission once you get underground)
In other situations, the neon lighting is way too overexposed too (too red, too green, too blue crushing every nuance)
that is actually something you see in some recordings on youtube....
when I installed novacity and got the flashlight mod, is when detail started to come back to life, highlighting the necessity of fixes
it's a literal mess, and tbh I wasn't using any LUTs before trying to fix HDR
maybe the issue is that the overall lighting design of the game is just plain broken, who knows.... not me š
not me, I just help troubleshoot the issues lol
@maiden oasis
I downloaded Cyberpunk“s Reno straight from the Discord server, maybe that one is outdated too? Which sliders am i missing?
i'm confused
isn't he missing some sliders ?
but the build timer looks correct
How to Setup RenoDX in Cyberpunk 2077
it's a known issue
it's like the one downside to using the WIP version
I commented on the post š
as far as those sliders go...wtf is he doing lol
298 for peak brightness
buit
where is the dynamci exposure slider
I realize that was probably done for troubleshooting
@earnest geode aren't you the guy ?
I“m the guy hahah
Thanks
if you use the wip build
wbh
where are the debug graph and dynamic exposure sliders
ya
i got confused he had the same map pics as you
The reason why i set the peak brightness to around 300 is because im using the TB400 mode on my Oled, so i thought i had to match that

you're good, though I'd thought it would have been like 400-450 for TB 400, but I never messed with those kind of displays
but yeah either way the map isn't going to look right
I'm just glad I like the look of the realistic map
Yeah, no problem tough, i just intalled a mod to fix it hahah
š
Thats the one im using
I like the vanilla better (without it being washed out, of course hahha), but the realistic map is good enough
what questions? lol
True
help me help you
Im missing some sliders
ahh the sliders
he uses the wip contrast build but debug graph and dynamic exposure missing
Dont know if they are that necessary tough
wait...
but i'm confused
seen this before
make sure you removed the other cyberpunk renodx mod
they're named differently so they won't overwrite each other
also make sure the WIP addon is in the correct place
/bin/x64 folder within Cyberpunk
Yeah, its in the correct folder
I dont have any other cyberpunk renodx mods to remove hahah
I just intalled this one
it's just it could indicate a bigger problem with your game
or reno installation
GOG
But im not using their launcher
Im playing it offline
Yes
Yeah, i downloaded the executable file
hey that's not the wip contrast file
get this one
leave all defaults and just set peak brightness 460
yeah if you read the guide I made you'll see some other troubleshooting tips as well
pretty much anything that has been complained about has been listed
I got the sliders now haha
nice
Thanks!
But i should not mess with the dynamic Exposure, right?
I wouldn't
ya it was just to make sure you had updated mod
You said that reshade doesn“t like FG, so should i not use both together?
I have a 5080, but can“t get above 60 fps with path tracing all the time, so im using FG
when I say ReShade I mean the actual shaders in the Home tab, specifically ones that use the depth buffer (AO, GI, RT, DoF, etc)
nah it's fine
So i should be good
Nice
I still haven't finished the game
The only thing that actually bothers me about the game is the draw distance and pop in
Its horrible
there are mods that fix the LOD etc
this is a collection that was put together by one of the folks in the Ultra Plus server, it's not truely vanilla+ because it does add other mods that increase the difficulty etc, but you can use the list to find some visual mods that would be good to add https://www.nexusmods.com/games/cyberpunk2077/collections/lv4wpp
I recommend Ultra Plus at the very least
Yeah, Im using one from Sousine
I think thats his name
Or hers
But street sings and lights are still an issue
There is another mod that fix it, but i dont know if they are compatible
I finished it on the PS5, but its a whole different experience on a PC
yeah that list should at least help with finding compatibility
that's what I use it for, but I ended up making my own custom modlist
Me too, but i want it as vanilla as possible, so im only using some quest and immersion mods and patches
How do even troubleshoot with some many mods??
these days I just hope and pray
Theres over 500 in this collection
I was using the Nexus Mod App but it got corrupted on me
I only use the website
so these days I just have a manual install I want to eventually get transferred to MO2
but thankfully load order isn't as important with Cyberpunk
Also dont like using vortex, so only install it manually
