It's a miracle how that game still didn't EOS. It was so jank at launch. The game couldn't handle 10 people in the same area doing a world boss. The story was mega slop to the point where they just force the new players to skip 1.0 and I think maybe 2.0 story altogether when starting the game. When they added Ray tracing support with 2.0 they fucked it up so badly they had to remove it and revert the game to dx11 for a few months until they figured out what and how they fucked up

it was truly entertaining to be a part of and watch it as it all unfolded. you could really tell it was their first game as a studio, and that they were learning and trying reall hard to make best of it while also giving players something really cool in return (and content updates in 2.0 and 3.0 were actually pretty goated, it was just that... couldn't get rid of that "jank" feel everywhere) but kudos for trying
what eventually drow me away was not the jank but completely insane GREED and power creep. everything got too expensive and store deals and offers were insulting, it was just way too greedy for anyone's taste and the whole "group based" content always relied on 1-2 whales to carry everyone where they were doing 90% of the team damage (by 1 guy) so eh 🤷♂️ that was all very very fucked up, but the game itself? it had a lot of nice elements, just like NTE does, now it's just better and i think they learned what was bad with group content catering to whales, and hopefully they learned greed is bad
I personally knew a whale, well a couple actually that quit for similiar reasons, but this one in particular it just happened he C6ed a new char he really liked and in just a couple of months that char became completely obsolete power crept by a new char that was better at C0

Yup basically every guild had to have a few whales that carried the rest atl the one I was a part of did. The power creep really was insane. I was f2p back then and I just couldn't keep up with it. But other than That it really is not an awful game like many people seem to think. I put around 200-300 hours into it and I had fun. 2.0 and 3.0 really were big step ups

sadface, i can't get rid of the skin glow, I think it's just something with UE filmic extended that produces a kind of "haze" for NTE. It doesn't appear in UE-HDR, so i'll just chalk it up to a "reno" like effect particular to this game. Back to fake hdr.
@dusty girder the UI in Aphelion (just hit game pass) seems to be stuck at a positively flashbang level 10k nits regardless of what UI brightness is set to in UE-Ext - other than that, it looks pretty good. any idea what i need to mess around with and/or troubleshoot? 🙏

1 - blend 100
2 - blend 50
3 - blend 0
it feels like a more accurate highlight slider. but it does exactly the opposite of what I like seeing during gameplay (might be unable to see the difference if not on a 2000 nit screen, but if I reduce the blend from 100 I really lose that "pop" and if I could I would increase it to 150 here. increasing highlight slider is worse, because it clips/blows out the sun, but this does not so I leave it 100 here or even more if I could 👍

I just have to use option 3 for interiors still (maybe because of RT and thelighting setup) the shadows are too dark and slightly crushy while characters too bright it's just the way the game is
interiors can look so crushy setting contrast to 46 or even lower might be even better if you're using a special profile for it anyway
I just set contrast 45 and shadows 60 here
btw any word on possibility of hiding the UID? (and ping)

yeah it actually got me to enjoy pushing this to the max to make things more stand out, and it doesn't hurt the character that much, gives them more color instead of washing them out if anything.
looks great very nice during night time, depends how flashy you like your game to be, but interiors + character closeups are another problem I just solve with lower exposure and contrast on the other preset, not sure if I want to reduce this one below 50 even in that situtation tbh

the only thing i would change, if i knew how to mod, if it's even possible, reduce the hero lights on characters, it's the only issue that if you set highlights or this slider higher, it will make characters very bright too because of their luts or hero lights or w/e they're using to make them so bright

see this is funny, her hair looks much brighter than the sparkly details on her accessories
but checking heatmap, it's nowhere not even close to the accessories sparkles - but those don't even look bright compared to the hair!

yeah i know, and it was very much needed. the hue/color loss without that was too much
too bright is caused by you using game brightness not appropriate for your room lighting

oh yeah for sure, i had it set higher to showcase how it looks "near defaults", i ussually play with game brightness 120-160 but now with this buffed blend slider i can (have to) go even lower, while keeping combat effects and sun popping out even better

I would guess surface area, not to mention it being it the center of attention
it's probably less a hero light shader as it is a completely custom lighting pass, because they excluded the it from the render pipeline (though they appear in reflections, so i'm probably off on that). They add in a custom shader pass back to the model based telemetry data, and it's not very smart in that respect.
I did muck with it a bit, but it just produced nonsense, it's not a light
so you have places where it's super stylized in horror elements and completely non working like sitting under shaded tent.

Yeah I live by those terms too, although it is actually technicaly breaking "their terms". But we've never seen these companies go out of their way to ban their users for mods (and stuff like migoto) the one thing they strictly care about is currency cheating and even in cases where something could have been exploited or refunded they would respond by setting your currency to negative (making you in debt) instead of banning you. Cheating or distrupting in multiplayer games is where account bans are justified, but as always is with these things, it's a grey area on purpose, so they can legally protect themselves for all possibilities, instead of outright saying "yeah you are free to modify the game code however you want" no lawyer would let them do that

For MotorSlice there is bug making some bright spots pitch black unless ui brightnes is max out (500). +Crashes randomly

For Conan Exiles you'll need to disable BattleEye, and make an Engine.ini file here \ConanSandbox\Saved\Config\Windows (within the installation location) and add
[SystemSettings]
r.LUT.UpdateEveryFrame=1
then make the file read only
I checked all the areas. No LUT builders needed for this
it's possible one of the dungeons will drop one but I doubt it at this point

just search up vencord...install it, download some plugins in vencord and profit thumbsupge
it shows those emotes a bit weird for users that only use normal discord, but better than nothing
also some servers will automatically time you out for posting fake emotes because those emotes work like hyperlinks...so you get timed out for spam
but vencord has many useful qol plugins

if you toggle this ON, then for you those emotes will look normal even when they are in sentence and you wont see blue hyperlink text
however even without this toggled on if you just post 1 emote without any word, then it shows emote as small picture...so it looks more normal...however on phone that emote will have round edges, like pictures have, so people will know its a fake emote

The funny thing is if I use optiscaler to inject fsr fg with dlssg inputs it actually uses fg properly and my gpu usage climbs to 99% and my fps maxes out. Game has such shit optimization on the cpu side

I was dealing with the same thing. I had to either turn fg off, cap my fps, or use optiscaler to inject fsr fg while using dlssg inputs instead to stop the stuttering with fg on for me. If I just tried to play with their normal fg I would get so much stuttering even outside the shader comp ones.
Maybe my shader cache got corrupted or something and that’s why I’m stuttering?

eh hw lumen doesn't help, and this game is not made with hw lumen. it's only using lumen as a back end for RT reflections
turnng on HW lumen in NTE...is basically like 3% better at 10% more cosst
you can turn off screen trace, but then you lose half your reflections
i'm just saying in general the reason lumen looks bad in a lot of games
is becuse it's all software lumen with low samples and shit denoising
hw lumen doesn't have the light leak either
i don't think it use lumen only for reflections, i see some of the lights diffuse of surface which the RT option doesn't have, but the PT option does
NTE lumen looks pretty good as a lumen game. performance is also on the better side of a UE5 game (but then it's 5.6 so they get a tech bump). It's not super good, but UE has a low bar
it does, if you turn off hwrt, with RT on, you lose reflections.
that's why we think NTE is a highly modified nvidia branch NTE, it's using all the right areas... the only issue is, non of the regular nvxUE cvars work on it.
so for anything other than 4080 and 5070ti above lumen is still good enough i think

I have to use FG in NTE to get 165 hz (162 fps target) with PT on on a 5090/9800x3d rig but I bet with dlss perf game will hit 120 with these setting. i push dlss to quality and fg 2x to have 1 percent lows close to 158

Game starts but I just get a black screen with the music playing in the background.
Reno is causing it. Disabling Reno with ReShade on and the black screen disappears.
Reshade.log is not showing any errors regarding Reno so unsure what the issue is.
Hmm, changing **R10G10B10A2_UNORM **to Output Size fixes it, was a random Google AI result. (First useful one.)

Nah. You can't use preset L with Ray Reconstruction as RR has its own. I use preset E for RR.

Window-boxing can prevent "Output Size" resource upgrades from working as game renders at a different size and even different ratio.
Getting rid of black bars should work, or using "Any size" upgrades.

Is it normal for the live action stuff to be capped at game nits even with RGB10A2 at any size? Using SDR upgrade path w/ UE Extended on Mixtape. When using engine.ini HDR and using HDR path the live action scenes go to 10k nits.

I turned anti aliasing and global illumination down to high and got back 20 fps, didn't notice a difference. 75% of 4k
ultra/epic is usually very wasteful in unreal

Yeah I just went by what ultra+ suggests, global illumination on epic has downsampling that's unnecessary.

forcing a new shaders compilation fixed the crash at the start

nvm, the game still crashes but just later in the chapter now instead of at the start, but at least it's after the save so I'm in the next chapter now

I set r.LUT.UpdateEveryFrame=1 in engine.ini (read-only), used the file linked above and disabled Generic Depth,Effect Runtime Sync.

can someone explain what this difference in frametime graphs means? it's same fps in both (FG on/off) is this why it just "feels" so bad to me? it's not that I get any stutters or drops that I would notice, it just feels laggy... and it's not just about input response. what does this graph really tell us?
I just can't stand playing with fg on because the way it makes the game feel (so I prefer RT off FG off with that smooth frametime graph)
and for reference this is doubling wihout RT so i'm hitting my fps cap - it's still expanded, but not as much

It’s not that. The frametime graph is simply showing the generated frames. The jumps you see are 1 real frame and one FG. Creating that seesaw graph. But it’s normal

It's due to how late the fg frame is generated since interpolation needs waiting for the second native frame
Presentation should be smooth as Luxas mentioned but internally that's why the frametimes oscillate
it's all good until you turn on FG, it never felt this bad in other games to me

Because fg is broken in NTE. At least for nvidia fg. It literally cuts my gpu usage from 98+ without it on to the mid 80s with it on and that isn't remotely how fg is supposed to function. It should increase gpu usage which is why it's helpful when you have a cpu bottleneck.
I donno, it's not quite FG, at least after I update streamline. there is frame smoothing going on, but I think it's worse with frame smoothing off, so i have to play with it more
there's some type of camera view culling going on, and it can produce artifacts, is more the issue with the eyes.
I believe the NTE devs is pulling some tricks with scheduling resources in the game, as I can do some thing or even others that spammed the cvars, and it does run better but then the loading starts hitching in the usual UE world partitions transitions.
So it ends up would you have a better experience in combat or out of combat. This is before you may or may not have animation issues like racing

I use the software for global injection and I added HTGame.exe to it.
and I'm also loading reshade with SpecialK too by just putting Reshade64.dll next to the game exe
make sure to run SpecialK as administrator
with PT + FG and SK framerate limiter my game is now buttery smooth
also for everyone with a juddery camera make sure and double check VRR is working in NTE
for some reason I had to go and turn VRR off and on again in the driver
for it to engage with NTE
I get huge frametime traversal spikes with PT turned on even at 60 fps (50% input res) without fg, is this something SK can fix?
and with FG on I get random freezes in menus and world map its so bad it's not worth it
if FG is causing those jarring drops whenever you switch between menus or sections of the game where it turns off, it's just not worth it for me causing all that disturbance
had a similiar issue in Pragmata menus and some minigames, dropping down to 30s felt really bad so I played that without fg too
and the game would generally never go so low, but it just happens in some menus etc in some games, it completely tanks
