Unlike the last time, I didn't encounter the blur bug in DLSS 4.0, which made this comparison much more accurate. Interestingly, DLSS 4.5 in Performance mode still delivers a noticeably sharper image than 4.0 Quality. Very satisfied with the visual upgrade.

you can achieve a smiliar sharper/shimmering result on CNN if you force full res textures on distant LOD models

the worst offender was cyberpunk 2077 I think but It's pretty easy to notice in wuwa too, it's not that distracting in wuwa tho

I agree it is on a game to game basis, but mostly I find transformer model an overall better choice. Granted, I do like sharpness content a lot

Hey guys, I've been having an issue where transitions completely don't work for me.
Maybe they just haven't really been checked out for older quests and are only being fixed on newer areas and quests, but was still wondering incase that's not what's happening.
The transitions most of the time either don't work or are somewhat awkward.
I recently started Black Shores questline and there was this part https://youtu.be/kKUV8pSNlb8?si=dDyo5N-UVr_iqjP6&t=858 where Rover wakes up and as he's getting up, it slowly fades into a black screen, in my case, there was nothing the animation of him getting up plays out and then the Rover is there just motionless in awkward position for a second or 2 before it cuts to gameplay.
This happens quite a lot and is a bit weird with transitions.
My settings in case.
(Unrelated note, if someone has a better settings preset for 300 nits display, I would love to see it, also was wondering how do y'all view the HDR PNG images on Discord, in my case they're blacked out, HDR videos don't play either)

If it’s a HDR ready edge lit LCD monitor, then SDR should look better than HDR
Someone else mentioned something similar as well. Its gigabyte gs25f2, I've tried out this specifically for WuWa, and it looks much better with RenoDX despite not being a true HDR monitor aka 300 whole nits.
My issue with WuWa is that it has this weird greyed out filter, colors don't pop, are less vibrant, and everything looks overbrightened.
I've also tried out just basic HDR and SDR in Stellar Blade for comparison, and Stellar Blade also looked better with HDR turned on.
The colors are slightly deeper, and it doesn't look as washed out, I'm not exactly expecting some miracles, but HDR looks somewhat better to me.
Other than the issue I'm having with transitions, surely there's someone else also with similar case to mine, and maybe has a better preset for monitors that can only go as high as 300 nits for WuWa 
Just alone on default color with RenoDX it was overly bright and seemed washed out on OLED. Follow the steps on this link and set brightness between 0-20. It will help a lot and now looks great. I have it set at 0 on OLED.

Looks good on my end with RenoDX, I was mostly talking as to how bad it looks as a base game once you discover these tools.
The first few hours I played without any tools, it looked fine to my eyes until I started expirementing

You could have just used renodx's built in grading sliders

Its such a rabbithole that's so hard to really get a good grasp on. I will make comparisons tomorrow between the HDR preset I had, and the current SDR preset, they're essentially the same, except brightness. Need to get a better conclusion.

To my untrained eyes, I did see difference for Stellar Blade, and liked Stellar Blade with HDR for reasons mentioned above.

Well, that certainly is the case with a cold shader cache at least.
But with shaders compiled, although performance levels are not very impressive, I at least don't find the game to be a stutter fest

Hey guys, so short question: does the renodx hdr in wuwa work right now if i use dlss 4,5 upscaler and nvidia multi frame gen? or does it flicker or whatever?
Highlight flicker occurs if you use transformer FG + Reno
and the game in question is doing SDR path upgrades
meaning the game has no native HDR and we have to fully upgrade via reno to enable HDR output
hmm so doesnt work right now then. sad
The addon works and we have a way around the flicker using DLSS FIX
however DLSS Fix is also in beta and not that stable
e.g randomly CTDs
for UE titles we can use UE native HDR ini pathing
its just that wuwa is a bit special, if Kuro adds native HDR, Wuwano can remake the addon to support it and FG flicker will get fixed
that or we cope that transformer V2 FG fixes it

If I remember it correctly, its some BS on the 5000 series where if a texture doesnt have mipmaps and you now force AF 16x on, it creates those weird red artefacts
LUTs dont have mipmaps
so they cause the artefacts

I absolutely adore the new presets highlight definition and better exposure balance. I do feel it is pretty undersaturated though. Artificial and mineral materials are fine, but foliage seems very tame compared to sdr. I've personally gone up to 60 saturation and 55 bloom and it looks pretty close to me (although maybe 59 or 58 would suffice for saturation). All that said, thanks for the work as always ! It is definitely an improvement overall, and the previous preset was already very good👌 .
It’s a trade off
You can lower saturation correction to 0 to get sdr colors
but that causes other issues
increasing the saturation to 60 “fixes” the foliage saturation, but causes character skin/outift/attack vfx oversaturation
it’s a “pick your poison”situation 😄
but increasing saturation to 57-60 is perfectly fine

YO i got DLSS 4.5 to use with my super dooper new 5070 TI XD lucky for me STALKER 2 works with FG so i can do both DLSS Performance + FG 160 FPS BABY nop my muppet ass forgot i never got 160 on that game T^T
UE has engine level HDR that can be set which includes resources + swapchain.
The FG flickering happens because of how Reshade + Reno + FG transformer interacts when having to also set up HDR swapchain and upgrade resources
If some geezer moved over Wuwa add-on to use UE HDR then this problem gets solved

@sturdy cloak Well I have bad news, lowering saturation correction fixes most of the color issues (Saturation Correction 50 + Saturation 57), but it removes colors from VFXs and special effects :/
we need a better hue processor
there is not much we can do, just increase saturation to 57-60 for now
or you can try Saturation Correction 50 + Saturation 57, the issues might not bother you
