try L, its heavy though
tested it and in the problem areas it looked 1:1, seriously any interior was so noticeably aliased
literally looks like i turned AA off
other times its very good though 😭
hmm preset L at balanced in witcher 3 actually doesnt look bad
M looked pretty oversharpened in the grass here
not even sure i can record that properly smh
im already doing 30fps 125mbit bitrate
looks nowhere close to what i see in game bruh
I cant tell a difference between the 2
I swapped realtime with the dev dll
what dev dll
Its probably just more temporally stable in certain scenes (L)
Get this one from swapper
And set all Dlss presets to default
You can switch real time between all presets with this
Also activate the overlay to see the hotkeys
ctrl+alt+]
In my keyboard it was ctrl+alt+¿
Seeing the realtime difference from K to M is insane
Do it in a place with trees
For this make sure to not have any override in inspector or something. All has to be default for it to work
Welp I mean theres other ways to get it
Btw is display commander working for you with the non reflex cap?
Oh I thought you did mb
for witcher 3 driver cap works best for me
Native frames pacing means pacing the non generated frames
Driver doesn’t do that afaik
But I’ll try that
Optiscaler’s reflex capping works really well for me. Weirdly display commanders is juddery
Probably same thing as driver cap
Yeah reflex cap on DC is always bad for me
And the other one doesn’t always work well for some reason
I’ll try optiscaler
i would be very surprised if NVIDIAs cap isnt FG aware
it also auto caps to the gsync vrr reflex cap by default even if you set it higher
like if i set 119cap it will still do 116
Yeah but I need to cap under Gsync cap
I want to cap to 80fps
Frametimes are shit with FG and I get flicker
i run 100fps cap myself in witcher
I guess I can try normal cap on Witcher
no probelms
Maybe even RTSS
Ok ok lol
K | L | M
L M
M looks more unstable in the grass for example at the bottom
K seems to have more temporal stability i think
So K then L then M in terms of image stability
i think the noise in the grass for example is what makes it look more oversharpened in M
this dev dll is sick with the live switching, simplifies comparisons so much
im gonna do a really high bitrate recording later comparing them in a couple different spots. idk how poorly discord compresses compared to youtube tho
but i can put it on either

thought it was a photo im cooked

just woke up chill on me im just a vessel bro
Honestly I don't know if it's because I haven't played in a while, but the game looks incredible, the fire! I don't even know which version of RenoDX I'm using, but maybe it's the last one you sent.
you playing at 4k? not my experience at all tbh, I instantly recognized M as being more stable than K in W3. Branches were more stable, grass looked better etc.
I play on DLSS Performance-4k
Weird, the starting and final resolution must make a big difference for some of these models I guess.
look at the cloth at the back of the neck
K is still very much the most stable
while m isnt good
im dlss balanced atm
at performance mode L is arguably even better
M stays dogshit though

Just popped into the game to look at M again. M looks incredibel fo rme
no joke
I get the feeling M is very very specifically made for 1080p-4k upscaling or something. I mean on my end its a straight improvment and not even close
if you would have told me a few months ago it was preset K quality mode I would have believed you
i get that noise on literally all of the cloth banners etc in any interior
really on everything
L or M
its so hard to ignore
yeah, M is the worst for me though
walking around the game world M will look solid for a bit. go into interior like a brothel type jawn and there is insane noise on literally everything
L and K are close enough that i like using L
I did notice when I zoomed in on a guys collar I did see some noise (that'd i'd never actually see while playing).
At least on my screen the game looks significantly better overall. Better aliasing, noticeably better at preserving fine details like embers or specular highlights etc. I do see some noise when I looks for it though. Will have to play some more.
i get the feeling its not the sharpness causing this instability
that noise is everywhere
its literally insane
you just dont notice it yet
What I need to test mor is L for ultra performance. which after soem brief testing was damn impressive
L works at performance or balanced just as well
go to the place where u meet the lady who helps u dream about ciri, in the room up top where she is is noise city
damn near every material in that room looks horrible
immediately resolved by swapping to K
sad
i expected a lot better
i need a preset L without the noise
legit
Dlss swapper to test the differences easily right?
yea
Ultra performance looking "good" instead of just playable will be the long term success of this though I'd imagine.
who cares about ultra perf
aint no one upscaling from 720p
or even lower if you dont have a 4k display
would always rather use dlsstweaks and force 40% at bare minimum if i absolutely had to but even then for that you'd need a good base output like 2160p
would never go to 33%
thats just absurdly low
I do which is why it's nice, was doing some breif testing with Jedi survivor ealier and was super impressed
i play 50% at 4k
yeah 50% is absolute minimum for me with 4.5
but i am on an LCD and its slow so having the extra frames is always nice. 55% and onwards is the better place to be
balanced territory
on dlss 4.0 K i was using balanced absolute minimum
so new dlss bumped me a step down for what looks acceptable to me
but yeah the noise is whack
ohno i found a diff issue with Preset L now
fucking snow flakes on skellige had pretty visible trails

I think I'll just stay with preset K for now, L and M clearly need more time in the oven with all the noise and oversharpening issues
especially noticeable on foliage and hair in Witcher 3
and in GTAO while using L or M, instead of just ghosting the contour of a rear of a car in motion, it just now "reflects" the whole rear of the car on the asphalt, surrounded by some black squared shadows
-# (yes, I did a clean reinstall and yes, it doesn't happen with older presets)
Preset M for sure. Clarity is king. Either way, these new models have a lot of promise though. If they work out the kinks it'll something special. Played a few hours of Jedi Survivor at 4k Ultra performance and in-motion the game looks extremely good considering it's being rendered at 720p. Has some ghosting in edge cases and a weird bug where when you stop moving for 3+ seconds the the image degrades for a second before resolving again continually (wonder if that tied to the noise people see in some cases since people often don't move when benchmarking for stuff like this).
Despite that, the game ran about as smooth as it is capable of running I'd imagine so it's almost tempting to play the game like that (not quite good enough yet though).
How does it compare to preset k performance
I also generally like the new presets. Looks sharper but the highlights and volumetric stands out the most. Highlights don't look as clamped as before.
So i prefer a little bit of maybe oversharpening over the preset K
I really wish Nvidia would let us tune the preset sharpening ourselves at least a little
is it there with taa off
That's assuming the black box that's is DLSS, that can even be adjusted
preset M on performance looks very good to me.
the main issue is in games with RR
It's significantly worse with RR on
it looks they didn't update the RR preset
strange that DLSS Balanced and Quality in the games I teste preset K looks better
this preset M seems to be good on performance only tbh
i think preset M is made for performance specificly so thats probably why
on stability preset M seems very consistent, but on details at higher resolution look worse than K
Super Resolution, ANY preset, will become completely irrelevant, because SR won't be used you will instead use upscaling that RR has built-in, presets A-C being CNN and D/E being Transformer
Yes with RR it is like that
that's why Preset M looks worse with RR on (cause essentially is not being applied)
so that's a moot point then. You can even have dlss 2 sr there
Night and day
I kid you not K looks blurry in comparison
your candles n fire are deepfried sir
what you learn in here is that when it comes down to fire and candles @cold basin knows something about

Oh my god are those blacks crushed. I can't see a thing.
invictus' nightmare is that someone installs mod Turn on the Lights to his game and sets it to automatically activate all candles/lightsources during night as he comes in range, so that he has to slow down and inspect each one in turn instead of playing.
(I use that mod this way, love it. But during earlier W3 plays, I enjoyed flaming up candles myself, but this fascination has passed away over the years.)

how do you do that?
nvm i did it manually
I might have to accept that I just need to drop textures to ultra 😩
I don't even know what the impact of that will be like with hd reworked installed tbh
I should get some comparisons I guess
hm, difference isn't that large actually
should see what the actual vram usage difference is like
nope still having severe problems in novigrad
maybe I can scrape by with preset K and no framegen
wish a 5090 was a remotely sensible purchase for me right now lol
Novigrad is very cpu intensive
Which gpu do you have? Was a 4070 ti iirc?
in case you haven't, you can lower the amount of background npcs spawned, I sometimes go down to medium
Yeah I’m just also running into the vram bug the game has where if you hit 95% utilization you end up with a runaway problem until you reboot the game or restart the graphics driver
And 5070 ti. I’m just pushing things too far with texture mods and rt improvements
Have to pick what I want to give up
Though I think ditching framegen might be enough
my initial test with hacky framegen (AMD) on OptiScaler seemed great, but found that only while standing still... and couldn't actually play the game, not even ride on an empty Skellige island smoothly. So I disabled framegen again, but kept the DLAA -> FSR4 upscaling/AA. It seems to cost me less than 10 fps compared to game's regular FSR2 option. I get crashes with driver timeout every 2 or 3 hours, but that's the same without OptiScaler.
still, Novigrad might kill my system now... tries
Anyone know how to deal with the shadow pop in? I think it's related to RT shadows?
doesn't 100% solve it but makes it better
This happens to me too. 5070 ti
Witcher 3 sure is so demanding hope witcher 4 performs better lol
there is also a specific RT shadows mod that helps with Tree/object shadow pop-in and stuff more specifically. Also, if you use that reflection mod I'd suggest changing "RtRadianceScreenTraceZThreshold" in the .ini to somethin like "0.0005" or some small value like that. It is set at zero in the download but that negatively effects the look of certain reflections in my testing
have u seen this? https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/8083?tab=posts it is a compromise but it might help your game not run out so fast
personally i just restart it when it happens, it takes at least an hour usually for me so im not too bothered
is this the issue where if your native resolution is 4k and your card has 16gb vram it starts leaking
the highlights on the top of the grip with the bear on it look alot better and cleaner with 4.5
K | M
im so unsure what i prefer

the puddle has MUCH better specular highlights
the diff with igni embers in the environment is crazy
Rain xD
Compare 4.0 with 4.5 with geralds actual armour
Night and day as well
I still will take a more stable image over the noise/sharpness city that is preset M
🤔
plus I've noticed that parts of UI ghost even more on preset M compared to K (at least in my testing in Witcher 3 and GTAO)
Im using M at 70% rn
Pretty happy actually with that
Gonna see whether or not I’ll run into issues
i use L in the witcher 3
cuz i feel its not a game made with taa in mind

we now cope with L
Im still unsure, i hope they soon come with a 4.5 preset for quality and DLAA
and not leave us stuck with this for another year now
yeah thats why i use it with 70% scaling rn
at least
seems alright
M/L is just so much better in witcher 3 rn
switching from M to F in the dev dll is crazy
cyberpunk is a shimmering hell with L or M
K blends the grass and the vegetation a lot, M/L doesn't.
F is the most blurry one ofc

F should only be used with DLAA
even at quality its super blurry
which does help with creating a calmer image tbh
comparing ultra performance with K, M/L is also crazy
K has like no aliasing which is nice
cnn model doesn't do that.
because it over kills details
#🎟️clubroom message
here
K completely killed specular reflections
but it provided THE best aa
I know, I remember when I was comparing preset E with K, and I can tell you I was confused why K blended the grass and vegetation
5 dolla 😔
ya that what it does basically
it treats stuff thats not aliasing as aliasing
and smoothes things
true
i always dont like K
but tbh
in tw3 its not bad
because tw3 doesnt have volumetrics
which is the weakest point of K
haha yeah, I tested bf6 br mode, and the game looked smooth with K and switching it to M/L made it look much sharper, and all the effects look distinct, and the difference between overlayed effects is clear.
F does too
all old dlss presets do that
yeh
its just K does it more
its quite bizzare tbh

we never got correct hdr highlights in a lot of game ?
Seems so
Either that or the games hdr highlights were designed around TAA/pre 4.5 DLSS

TAA still clamps HDR highlights
I think it only includes F j k l m
By the way, when comparing DLSS in terms of shimmering, keep in mind that Witcher 3 has its own issues
Setting antistropic filtering to 16x in the driver menu reduces it a little
?
Good lord i didn't know how bad K was griefing particles
#1428442411071180861 message
not just particles
literally all small size details
though E also does that to some degree
What about combining DLDSR and M
no frames
Use DLDSR and M 50% instead I mean
the cost of L/M is based on interal res
To minimize sharpen issue
its not an over sharpen issue tbh
Dldsr and use smoothing at 100% so no extra sharpen filter I bet would balance it out
theres zero reason to use sharpening filter with L/M
because its basically on no taa image
absolutely no extra sharpness should be applied
Sir I don’t want to play at 30 frames
With Fg
Yeah
50% and dldsr 1.78 is the same res as 67% and no dldsr
Not on 50 series it doesnt
Do I look like a rich boi
maybe fxaa from reshade
Yes
you can try that
Your name is red
Well who cares about mpo if it makes M look really good
I'm just saying try for science
seriously
Hell nah
Why are we against trying things for science
Fuck outta here
I just test whatever is viable to me xD
Why do I keep getting plasma'd 😭😭😭
and enjoy the sharpness
I mean I can test but my FPS is already struggling with M and 70% scaling with just 3840x1600 UW

Can barely keep 100FPS with FG on
Higher res to upscale to certainly won’t help
time to buy a 5090 lightning
The fps should be the same
For the cheap price of 5000€
upscaling to higher res costs more
Upscaling to a higher output res is slower
dldsr also has its own cost
take 1sec to verify with optiscaler's output scaling option
you dont need dldsr
with a game have dlss
you should
Sounds cool

😭
plus relfex limiter and rcas and vsync toggle with fg
That's what display Commander is for
they are the same though
Nah, DC has better options
Sync to frame present with reflex > just turning on Nvidia reflex limiter
is there any difference
Yes, game dependent, but it makes frame pacing extremely good
Required to fix certain games like Clair obscur
do you judge pacing by frametime graph
I judge pacing by moving my camera and using my eyes
fine
I can't stand judder
Especially since I use 3x mfg a lot of the time if it doesn't get the pacing right it's awful
Yeah understandable
I sure hope the witcher 3 rumoured expansion upgrades streamline so we can use MFG
I bet with good pacing 3x is actually super usable
Lmao bro don’t get your hopes up
Yeah especially since I have 240hz monitor, the base is basically 75 fps to 225 fps and it's rock solid
Hopefully LG will be on the 240hz grind for their TVs by the time we have 6090s

(They won’t)
HDMI 2.2 wen
Not even that with DSC should
Be fine on 50 gen and newer
Do any LG tvs support dsc
Double HDMI input idk
Yeah 4k144 is limit of 48GBPS
Yeh
So then it's just a panel limitation then
More like their processing shit I bet can’t handle 240
The lg c6 looks like a good upgrade from C1 though
Since lg uses same processor for 2 years though i guess 2028 would be earliest for potential 240
I wish he moved onto Cyberpunk
there are so many low poly meshes in that game that would really benefit some treatment from master Halk

I drop a new mod guys for ayone using controller 😉
Note how Geralt is faster in Combat Stance mode. In vanilla, speed is fixed and doesn't care about the tilt of the left stick.
i just tried that
and the input lag is a lot higher

more than 50ms at 120fps
been using since u released it, very very good mod
Nice sounds like something i was looking for
ohno i hope this isnt first signs of savegame corruption or sumn, i just had Geralt not appear anymore in the inventory screen, even saving and going back to main menu didnt work
had to fully restart the game

Truly a sharp™ enjoyer
but yeah i agree
the longer i use it
the more i like it
im still using the dev dll
switching back to K a lot for comparisons
could never knew that there are so many small highlights in games
starting to come around to the new models too
TI was right all this time, so many details lost because of the blur
as always the goat is a head of his time
No it's not "optimized".
︀︀
︀︀It's just running on top end 2026 hardware & Nvidia is taking advantage of modern gullibleness by NOT labeling the 59fps footage resolution (it's not 4K).
︀︀
︀︀The "4k Path Tracing" the video title references is fake 4k upscaled from low res dlss.
Quoting Peter (@PeterP_1985)
︀
People saying "unoptimised".
︀︀
︀︀Native 4k with Path Tracing at damn close to 60 fps, is optimised
"fake 4k"
I will touch TI
everything is fake by his standard
no game renders everything at native res
if a game did that then its just stupid unoptimized trash
GIGGGGGA BASSSED
well true optimized games would run everything at native res with no culling

real life sun is billions nits
its just a white blob to our eye
wtf
sdrlets were right
man this is peak gaming right here
why the fuck is every single thing on the sea a goofy ass smuggler cache with 15 drowners
they didnt even bother putting all the shit on the Progress on the path checklist mod

i now know why
its just ubisoftslop copy
they really thought: damn Ubi making them good games
When Ubislop do it = bad
When Polish do it = good
let me post the meme
Witcherlets still cant refute this
nah gowr is fine
the skills is unlocked based on the weapon level
which generally scales with main game progress
I might have missed a thing or two... this was a TW3 dedicated thread a few days ago. Now everyone is dumping on the game. I'm so lost😅 ...
duality of gamers
reading the comment for this post was badd
it always is
oh yeah i got blocked too
well uhh, in velen n shid i didnt even mind it much
but like
i am currently on my 14th smuggler cache back to back
im losing my mind rn
especially because they ALL have these fucking drowners
my crossbow doing like 10 damage
have to shoot each bitch 3-4 times
actually crashing out rn

was it ?
doubt that

I went insane in Skellige trying to 100% it, absolutely not worth it
game is great but like
this is actual slop game design
yes gib me 9 bajillion smuggler cashes pls
and make them all maximum annoying to loot
so don't loot them
skill issue
I guess they wanted people to be able to discover points of interest organically wherever they went/sailed, and didn't intend on people going to every POI, but then the decision to show all ? kind of ruins that organic sense of discovery.
Perhaps but it doesn’t help that 90% just is smuggler caches with 5 drowners
Could’ve made like shipwrecks underwater and stuff like that
I think I used the faster boat mod in Skellige last time I played through the game to help with the POIs
Are you doing it from the boat and not from underwater??
No I’m underwater
The drowned dead die in like 2-3 hits, drowners in 4
Super annoying

The sirens are chill
The get one hit when the grab the boat
Bro you're supposed to click th gsync cap button
Of course it's gonna be bad if vrr is off cuz it's using vsync at display cap
except i did
do i have to turn off vsync ?
No, but what was it capping to?
It should be 116 or 115 if your displays 120hz
no i was at gsync cap
How much mfg
What was the latency when you just used reflex
27ms
this is with that method, 52ms
There should only be 1 additional frame of latency, which would be 14ms at a base of 69 fps
Did it at least fix the frame pacing for you
Because Clair obscur stutters and judders in other modes
well i didnt get judders with reflex
maybe thats related to mfg ?
let me try 3x
well 3x is like 90ms+

Idk y you're getting like 4 frames of delay each time
are you playing with a mouse ?
No
3x mfg at 225 gsync cap so 75 fps base
And never have any issue with timing parries
there's actual interviews with devs and they said they regret doing that lmao
Lesson learned at least lol
Anyone know how to stop the game from triggering display sleep after a few minutes?
hi @cold basin would u mind sharing with me your Reno settings and also some good mods you have tested in TW3? ty

Damn wish I could use that with my 5070 ti. He even added wind effects to tends and such
later this year could be in many months though
that's actually super impressive work
to ease the pain of clearing out all smuggler caches
- Boat Max Speed Config
- Geralt Mobility Speed Mod Next Gen (adjust swim speed)
- drink potion with Drowner pheromones (they only attack if you engage them first)
wait, nevermind 🙁 doesnt work under water
get the one shot damage crossbow mod
i use it when i dont want to deal with flying enemies
Yeah that is what is annoying
I tried the pheromone thing

Thought I was gonna do a big brain play
We'll see if that holds true for Witcher 4
I think I saw the same video, seem to recall they wanted player to be able to stumble on things to loot, maybe they originally weren't supposed to be all marked on the map as "to-do lists".
Can do in a bit if I don’t forgor
No rush, when you have time
The other speeds in the mobility thing are default at 1.0?
the mod comes with the numbers from the main description page, a bit too high. There were more reasonable numbers posted in the comment section,
Let me check what I ended up with... and yeah, I believe 1.0 would mean "vanilla" speed. My values (I mainly dislike the swimming slowing me down, but something sprinting without Roach is nice too).
sprintingSpeed = 1.2;
swimmingSpeed = 1.3;
divingSpeed = 1.5;
(run unchanged at 1.0)
yeah i think the modpage says everything is set to 1.6 to default which if 1.0 is baseline is a bit crazy lmao
the boat thing is goated tho
ill just set it to 3x vanilla i dont even care
got the Bugatti boat
ive already won all boat races anyways
it's your 100 % run, you can always slow down and enjoy the experience next time XD
maybe not the bestest of ideas to do 100% run for first playthrough but whatever
Luckily, the urge to 100 %ing is not among my problems.
rip cant use the player speed one
bunch of script errors
and i cba to debug that nor have the knowledge how to fix it without breaking stuff
boat speed will have to do
lol and that boat speed mod doesnt work it seems, atleast i dont feel like its any faster
and i have it set to 24 instead of 8
works for my controller. Are you on mouse & keyboard?
controller
hm. Check the posts, author said game cannot handle more than around twice as fast. And it only affects the speed that you can get when "sprinting" with the boat, not the regular movement. For my Xbox controller it is when holding A button.
yeah i mean ofc im "sprinting" too xd
i think i installed it wrong, im not sure im supposed to just put it in the mod folder like the folder structure suggests

sprinting mod maybe imperfect in some way, but the boat one ought to be faultless. Ah. Think I know.
you put the 2 lines from the text file into your own text file. It lives under documents > The Witcher 3: it is called dx12user.settings
yeah i thnk so too
the mod is just zipped in that way so that the Witcher 3 Mod Manager can deal with it and add the user.settings from the mod into your own settings file. However if you install manually, you copy > paste the lines yourself, it is not described on the page, shame.
that's normal, it has a hidden default value. you can just add it
ok i just added it to the bottom like that
hope works

sad that 2x is cap
wanted to be zoomin around the watah
aww hell yeah it works
we boutta do all caches with this one

that and kill all command when i see drowners i cannot be fucked to waste my time on that

WHY TF IS THERE A LVL 48 ARCHGRIFFIN IN SKELLIGE

bro im level 30
wym
like hello
ok somehow he wasnt even that strong
Almost certainly what they intended lol
imagine if they put waterproof candles in each location

at least you get a lot of money from them
those grandmaster upgrades are so expensive in blood and wine
shieet, good to know
is this your first playthrough?
yesnt
i have started one playthrough in 2023 where i put like a hundred hours in
but i didnt even get to skellige there kek
shit was interrupted cause i got a autoimmune disease and couldnt play for 2 months atleast

also couldnt really remember much of it after i was okay
for the map. If you highlight for example the greyed-out smuggler caches in the legend and press the left trigger (the one that makes Geralt block with his sword) you can activate and deactivate stuff showing on the map. There are 2 symbols per category, so for 100 % it might help to simply deactivate the greyed-out POIs you already cleared.
wait wat
bruh
i did not know that
i was always thinking i want to have some custom filter
but there wasnt any mods for it
I only found out because it was on a mod's description.
guess thats why
you can set to ALL and then disable what doesn't interest you
it was True Exploration mod, he even writes that most people do not know this feature of the map 😄

why couldnt they add a tooltip like all the other controls at the bottom

is there anything you do with the 30000 mutagens that you acquire throughout the game?
i have a ton but they are also worthless to sell kek
no spoilers pls just yes or nah
xd
Looking for a mod which enhances the bad motion blur of the game. Any suggestions?
anyone have a clue why this one wont pop for me? been running around with ursine gear for like a while now, got both swords and full armor

the crossbow is probably the one missing
literally spent like an hour doing all of those skellige water points so I could pay the runewright scammer
At least you get tons of money selling all that shit to traders
Yup, this is why I do it too
yeah i made like 42k

duuuude look how the specular highlights get cooked here when switching from 4.5 to older DLSS
ZAMN
PBR on / PBR off

Using preset M or L disables RR in games that support it, right?
i think its the other way round
if a game has RR it will be dlss 4.0 because it wasnt updated yet
havent experimented with it yet though, just based on what ive heard from others
Activating RR overrides whatever presets you have selected for SR
RR = (its own) SR + Denoising so doesn't matter whatever is set for SR, RR takes over

It will fallback and use upscaling that RR has built in. Preset A-C being CNN and D/E being transformer

bro is hella yapping
skip in a bit
also i really dont get using perf mode at 1440p ngl
i immediately skipped in
yea i agree but the difference is pretty crazy still
yeah
after i updated nvpi and forced M that way and opted into beta (?) i'm not having even 5% of that noise i was having before
it looks really nice, minimal artifacting
performance hit is noticeable now though even with M
hm what
idk, the way i forced it day 1 was with nvpi but it was giving me insane noise in everything. day goes by and i updated nvpi for dlss 4.5 and also opted into the beta features on nvidia app and i tested the same spot and it was completely gone and im yet to see noise remotely comparable. it wasnt dlsstweaks because i uninstalled that completely to test and this is all thats changed
regardless it actually looks like it should now
its really noticeably better
i wont be able to go back to K
that video u sent was insane, of all the specular highlights
literally
fellas
should i start Hearts of Stone now? Im lvl 30 and currently active main quests is isle of mists where i recruited all possible allies but i havent travelled to said isle
i know that this is like a breaking point for many quests to fail so i thought this might be a good time to start that dlc
ofc no spoilers Please
Pretty much in the same spot as you, although I haven't finished recruiting everyone, felt like a good time to start HoS.
yeah ive done like everything already in preperation kinda
completed all quests that can potentially fail etc
In terms of the flow of the story I reckon it would have been better placed earlier in the story, but it is an expansion so I get why it is more of a late game/post-game thing.
Doesn't really feel like there is a good time given the urgency of the main quest story. I guess you could say the same for most side quests and stuff though.
yeah that urgency of main quest is the only thing
but whatever atleast i can enjoy the rest of the main game story without any interruptions after that
since BW youre supposed to do after the story
from what ive read
I guess, Geralt doesn't know he is about to start an expansion worth of stuff, from his perspective it is just another contract.
i cant really read much on that since im giga careful to avoid spoilers
Same
I, of course also decided now was a good time to start a new playthrough of Cyberpunk
But you have convinced me, I'm jumping back in for HoS too

I personally would finish vanilla first
And then DLC
I prefer to do it before the isle of mist
HoS is basically like a big side quest while Blood and Wine serves as an epilogue and must be played last
yeah
also it fits tbh
because like
even tho main quest is technically urgent
||ciri is technically safe and will continue to be until she is "rescued" from that island||
atleast as far as i understand
Bro that fucking ||toad|| is crazy
Homie beating my ass on deathmarch fr
Didn’t know I’m playing Elden ring over here
use superior golden oriole and it's a breeze
also effective against these in B&W
I am
But like
Bro 2 shots me
Basically playing no hit run
And like almost all attacks stun me

Finally bruh
Took like 30mins atleast
bro doesnt know whats coming next

Ya, you can play HoS during or after basegame. Some of its enemy types and bosses are kinda wild, I think it was a goal for both DLCs to offer more "true" boss fights/challenges. Luckily, there are still counters to everything. Currently in a HoS only run, I spent so much time hunting down the Oriole potion before finally feeling confident enough to start the ||toad|| fight.
The funny bit is, I collected viper armor before as well, from Immersive Gear Rewards (find it early) + More Witcher Set Bonuses (change its properties) mod. And it basically seemed to ||make me immune to poison anyhow, so Oriole never triggered, bahaha. Still, it took a while to beat toady.||
mais pour quoi tu joues en allemand le débile
c'est pas parce que t'es alsacien que MOSIEUR HOMER n'est ps français
@steady viper dit kekchose ptin

New lighting mod dropped for those interested
we love SDR
howmany lighting mods are there
the mod links to another mod
which links to another lighting mod
a lot
and all of them seem to have somewhat raised blacks 🙁
a lot of them probably use some nasty values for the tonemapping
Casual nuke exploding behind that mountain
What is this? Benis?
no, just Reno
Oh xD
I ended up just using vanilla and staying away from any lighting mods, none of them look right with HDR imo
Ah good to know
I was tempted bunch of times to try them but yeah
Prolly all look ass cause they’re not made for actual hdr
When I’ve tried them I don’t feel like they look better or worse cause of HDR. Maybe less sat correction is desirable with lighting mods but that’s about it.
If they’re designed with clipping as an important part of the look I mean…yeah I guess that’s just not gonna translate.
I think most of them should work well since the bloom rework
the old benis looked good but took the style of the games lighting completely out of the game so i stopped using it after a few months and went back to vanilla and ive stayed there
idk why people say its an eyesore. it does lack in a lot of areas but it does what it sets out to do pretty effectively id say
vanilla that is
just posting screenshots
just vanilla hdr vs reno lol
no shortage of that but I still enjoy seeing the improvement
smh i got spoilered by dio for that fight by a video he posted smh
lol
those beautiful, definitely not buggy RT reflections
hmm crossbow aint dyable though

but yeah dyable armor seems aids
ive installed a few texture mods for all the witcher armors to fix this
this what i meant when i said getting spoiled

I thought the issue was dyeable stuff being reflected?
could be i suppose
I'm not totally sure
worst named mod of all time, but should fix that issue. Just turns off AO checkerboarding. Has performance cost but shouldn't be noticeable if yo uare on a higher end PC
it doesnt
it helps but still has a bunch of cases where these rt reflections are cooked
Haven't seen a case as bad as that screen in years
i mean
im using ray bleach
and you seen how bad it looks for me
you told me to swtich to non dyable armor
kek
so it's that or a combo of that and the better reflections mod
that may be the cause for the armor but not the crossbow, I never get that blueish hue anymore
ive not really had any more issues though since switching to non dyable armors
If I had to guess the crossbow would be the AO checkerboarding
armor may be diff though for sure
Already using it
go to Kaer Morhen, down in the forest near the lake and let me know if it's fully fixed
it's not
I mean sure. I've just never had it happen in a way I have found super noticeable or bothersome in a very long time.
also I have pretty heavily tweaked RTX settings at this point so I can't even be sure what all could improve it just know that the AO checkerboarding is 90% of it
Could someone be a babe and give me a recommened list of visual mods to use if i were to play again?
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/9384
I think this is a good place to start. Visuals and Graphics section towards the bottom
There's also Improved RT Reflections and Shadows, Improved Shadows (they tweak seperate things), and turning off AO checkerboarding with a .ini.
did my playthrough with this + PAL instead of BVL + a couple other ones I wanted to use and its indeed an OP list

Seems cool
how do I get rid of outdoor fog in TW3?
after I modded the game I can't understand why I notice this close range fog which is irritating
also sometimes I see this fog pretty much everywhere
and sometimes I load the save and it's nowhere to be found
and I also notice if I go to a place with fog then this fog kinda follows me for sometimes in other areas
if anyone interested I found a fix

weird, i have the crossbow now, still not unlocking

bruh worked instantly with the griffin set

What was the general consensus with DLSS 4.5
I haven’t had time to test it
I’m at 3440x1440p
So it model M or L balanced better than K quality
Or is it overly sharp
Seeing a lot of discourse on it online and it seems to differ game by game
M is the overall best
make sure you disable all of the sharpening methods
@cold basin you were right bro, L has more artifacts (not just in this game), i switch to M now

No one size fits all answer, in my case I will start with M and if need be fall back to K
i’m using performance M on 3440x1440, been pretty happy with it over balanced K
Even with the new models I still don’t like anything below quality mode at 1440p
i honestly haven’t tried it with balanced or quality with M, is it worth it?
I’ll put up with balanced mode if I have to for performance, but I’d rather play at like 40 fps or something unless it’s a mouse and keyboard game
I think so
i’ve also seen some people prefer Dlss performance with L instead of M on 1440p
Just see for your own eyes
simplify your life, buy AMD, am got no troubles whatsoever with model selection
Their mode designators for the models have much more to do with total pixels at an assumed 4k
I think anyway
It's to keep people from crying online that preset M decimated their fps when they use it on quality or dlaa
The presets will always look better the more data you feed them, and I agree that 720p is too low for me
I will also agree that it's pretty crazy how acceptable things do look though at only 720p, (ultra perf 4k or perf 1440p)
Especially for those with weaker gpus, nothing wrong with playing like that anymore
i’m just testing it in W3, i’m on a 4090
balanced preset K 130 fps, performance M 140
true, especially considering the new presets have worse AA
id imagine the shimmering would be bad at 1440p with lower quality level
tbh after testing 20+ games it depends a lot from game engine and type of games
funny enough the best looking games with prest M and DLSS performance are UE games from my testing
4k or 1440p though
With 4k just slap it on perf and call it a day imo, unless you have a surplus of frame rate available still
I guess with the 4k120 tvs, you can get away with 4k qual easier
the new presets are really weak in terms of AA
4k performance is higher than 1440p quality
you can always sit further back then hehehe
Regardless, 4k performance at 1080p is higher quality than 1440p quality at only 960p
And surely people don't need to use dlaa on 1440p
Even at K dlaa was wasteful
My next monitor will hopefully be an ultrawide 4k, even a 5090 will struggle at that res though
Id take K quality over F DLAA anyway, but with M now you just gotta find the framerate somewhere
i run my 5090 at above 3.2ghz daily
+405 vs FE model
I've got +200, I could push a little more but def not 400, I don't want any instability if I can help
which model ?
FE cant flash bios
+3000 I think? Whatever the unlocked max is
the FE bios can suck in some apps
like steel nomad
not sure if thats the case in games
+200/3000 worked for daily for I guess a year now?
ya +3000 is the max you can do with regular bios
+4000 is the limit for xoc bios
above 4000 requires certain gpu models
Doesn't happen often but I'll admit I pucker up a little bit if I see it hit 600w
the new models pull more power
preset L DLAA i get 900w in some games
