Both belts and trains work. The "module" I was referring to was a unit of SPM. So I would build 60spm red, then if green science is ready, build 60spm green, then 60spm gray, then 60spm blue, then if stuff isn't ready, go back and double red/green/blue.
I'd probably keep gray at 60, and just let it buffer so it can run at 120 when I'm doing gray research.
If I have more science pots than labs, then I stretch the labs.

That... Would be interesting to see cuz until you have easy no fuel smelting via electric miners, id imagine that being pain

I never found smelting to be a problem with this, I just stacked more smelter arrays on and feed the production units with them.
