Its cheaper than using Undergrounds but Undergrounds let you fit more miners on the patch, thats the main pro/con ime

Sorry, what's underground?

If you have the miners output onto an underground you can put the power pole in the space you've made

Is it possible to share a blueprint for the idea you describe? I never used these for miners

#

Ah

#

Okay.

#

What about leaving horizontal vs verticla for early game

Really early game I'd do what your bp is because Undergrounds cost a lot of Iron early game and then when I'd swap when I'm into Green Sci

#

What do you mean horizontal vs vertical?

In above blueprint, poles are on the sides of the miners, that would create a column of space in between next miner column

#

We could also put them after miners, so that next 4 group of miners would have space for poles

I get you, didnt realise that was the original q

The blueprint has worse coverage but its way faster to setup, I'd do the faster setup to get rolling quicker

you can drag belts
then drag poles next to belts
then drag drills on both sides of the belts

#

you should end up with less gaps than doing a full vertical or full horizontal gap

#

should end up being half a horizontal gap

Unless you have some sort of unlimited ores mod enabled, there's not gonna be much of a difference between maximum miner and minimum coverage, cause in both cases you're gonna dry up the ore patches sooner or later
