There are already mods that add new planets. You could create your own if you wish!
The problem with new planets is finding a reason for the player to engage with them. A lot of mods suffer from this since unless there is a planet specific gubbin that must be engaged with, chances are you are better off optimising your factory with the planets you already have. This is especially the case for "exosolar planets" since they are even worse connected than the standard planets so more costly to interact with.
Space exploration mod mostly used the hundreds of planets as a way to artificially pad the universe to feel expansive. In reality you only engaged with a dozen odd which you choose based on resource properties, flight costs, and the like.
Long distane planets could work if there was ways to travel faster
Here are some rewards these planets offer though and the challenges to get them!
Woxen
Challenge - Finding and building a platform with Sodium-made landfill and extract these resources from mining deposits while producing "Ionic Science Packs" using Sodium plates and Solid Fluorine.
Rewards - Ionic Science allows you to convert metals and nonmetals into other items, such as turning Iron into Holmium! And allows the conversion of many materials to be separated into other materials using Chemistry Stations unlocked on Woxen!
Paraxana
Challenge - Farm the wild animals and take care of your livestock, leave them alone for too long and they will go berserk, attacking friendly entities! And in order to gather loot, butcher them at old age to be able to produce "Livestock Science Packs"
Rewards - Livestock Science allows you harness more efficient farming techniques and improves the speed of space platforms to reach destinations quicker!
Bundar
Challenge - Scavenge through the darkness and use the even stronger "Plasma Mining drill", run by fusion power. Plasma is obtained from special sockets in the ground unable to be extracted by a pumpjack! Use the "Ion Supply Source" to charge your factory and mine the deep underground metals to be able to produce "Futuristic Science Packs"
Rewards - Futuristic Science unlocks Quantum Gates, run by fusion power to transport resources from one place to another instantly! Also unlocks Plasma ducts and Plasma Tanks to be able to build more efficient Fusion Power plants!
Derfu
Challenge - Since this planet offers extremely uncomfortable heat, Cooling Vats unlocked after Woxen and Arasha, Make sure your factory doesn't overheat, or machines will malfunction and destroy themselves! Supply insulation using Solid Fiber Foundations unlocked at Paraxana! And use the molten Zinc to make "Thermal Science Packs"
Rewards - Thermal Science allows even stronger belts, turrets, machines, and more to enhance productivity on every factory!
Arasha
Challenge - On this Planet, you will be fighting against the weather, avoid letting the tornados destroying your base by defending with Weather Defenders! Harness these extreme winds of Helium to produce elecricity and "Weather Science Packs." And don't forget you can turn the helium into metals using the help of Woxen!
Reward - With the power of Weather science, you can make clearing enemies faster than ever before! Build Antigravity Turrets for planetary defense, while Airlock vents gust asteroids away using Helium as ammunition. Once again, Woxen's Chemistry Stations can help you get the right materials!

I would doubt any mod maker is gonna wanna help make you an overhaul mod if you're just giving ideas and no other help

It's Ideas I want others to know about so this can be a possibility, and maybe someone will create my Ideas into an overhaul mod, but I currently do not know how to mod and I bet you it's going to be agonizing, so If I can have a group of people to collaborate, I can make this a reality, not just an Idea.

Woxen has a factory platform similar to Ice platforms, but there's no freezing mechanics there though, and Exploring is viable unlike Aquilo, which relies on Planetary Logistics...
