Under the advice of a couple of people here, I've decided to shelve the underground visualizations for now. They didn't look amazing, and have been an absolute PITA to get just a couple of them looking... passable. I might look into an alt-mode style view where each layer is visible, like how it is in the pipe placement mode. In the meantime, I've added a placement visualization, selection visualization, moved the selection box, and fixed a few visual issues with the system. Next up is scripting the layer switch mechanic, and getting it published.
I'm also thinking about shrinking the underground visualizations by 5-10% to make them more visually different, especially since the other visualizations are already a bit smaller
Looking at my scripting... it's definitely not multiplayer compatible or desync proof. I'ts gonna need a few rewrites before it's workable

Are these underground pipes a different type of pipe? Or does an underground just switch you to working down there?
And does this also work for belts?
The pipe to ground switches between the two layers, but in reality the underground pipe is a normal pipe with no collisions and a custom connection category so it only connects to itself and pipe to grounds
It does not work for belts, i spent more time than i care to admit and found many strange bugs and interactions trying to get it to work
