So I have a base where I'm planning to have a main belt of 8 iron and 8 copper lanes now I want to add 4 lanes of green circuits. Where do I get the materials for it from? Do I take it from the main 8 lane iron belt or do I have to make a separate ore processing stations just for circuits? Would taking it from the main belt reduce the quantity on belt by too much? you take the iron and copper from the main bus
its what they're there for. What you can do, since green circuits are also a main bus item, is to dedicate 1 lane of iron and 1.5 lanes of copper for the green circuits. You can do this by manually dedicating the lines, or just put the green circuit factory as the first one on your main bus, and use priority splitters to ensure that the resources from the bus always prioritise this factory before any others further down
