You can set the power source as a source or drain. pipes will drain by default until you set a fluid on them to be a source for

@lusty delta A cool trick I highly recommend doing that makes the editor tab really convenient, make a parameterizsed blueprint for the pipe and infinity chest

so when you place that print it immediately prompts you for what should be in it
