smelters is way too overcomplicated, there's simpler ones with no drawbacks in comparison
there's no need to balance lines after smelter - it will be fine without it
steel can be made as a completely separate smelter instead of 2 part one

main bus is not necessary in general - and it even less necessary if there's not multiple iron and copper lanes - there's nothing bad with some spaghetti instead
compressors is better than balancers whet you get ore from the patch - they can handle quite a bit of side difference in a really easy way
train station will draw ore unevenly from the chests - better setup is something like that
there's no need to make it exactly this complicated, the part that matters most is the one in orange rectangle - each inserter output on separate belt
