I'm using flatpaked Steam for improved compatibility for many games and with Factorio I have an issue that I can't move .factorio to the actual home library, always teh one in .var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/ is used. Tried allowing access to the folder, symlinking manually - none worked. Any advice?

I want to move it because I'm using a tool that expects .factorio in the home directory and the only way to change is to use a cli arg.
Well, maybe I should change that, since I made that tool... An env var would be nice

For me a symlink worked for moving the .Factorio directory to another location when steam wanted to keep recreating it...
(Not the flatpack version though)

symlinking didn't work for a lot of dirs I wanted to give steam access to
