So, i have built some train station and (I think) a decent sized railways network. All trains will have 3 cargo wagons(so each train is 4 cars long). im planning on making military science. So far, i only have one stations for each needed resources, but im thinking about expanding a lot if its not enough. how do i calculate the right ratios for that science? Or do i just have to guess it and pray its right? I am using the website Factorio Calculator really often, but i got a bit confused here. so is there a way to know the right ratios? (im hoping to make it 10 science/second. or even 100 science/second.) I have only got red, green, and blue science at the moment and unlocked everything i could with those 3 sciences.
#How do i correctly calculate the recipe ratios while using train networks?

Generally I'd recommend having each train only pick up one resource, it simplifies a lot of things and ultimately as long as you're producing enough raw materials and intermediate components then the trains will just run more or less often depending on how much of a given resource they need
Also, if you plug in (for example) 100spm at the top of the calculator then you'll know how much of everything you need to be making - so as long as your network architecture is set up sensibly you'll be fine
And you'll want to overproduce most likely if you want to actually keep your research running without any intermittent delays. Not all trains are traveling the same distance.
Design by the overall rate, not specific exact ratios
Plonk down more mines until the factory isn’t starving for ore, plonk down more green circuit machines until green circuits are satisfied. It doesn’t have to be a big distributed exact ratio.
and i have also remembered that there is a mod to somehow calculate the efficiency of a production line. i have seen it on youtube from a tutorial about something, but i know that you just drag the box thing over the assemblers and it will count if there is enough red circuits and green circuits for the blue circuits and it can count everything i think. is that actually a mod or are those just fake memories?
