#How do you create a double headed train?

I am playing the train tutorial, and honestly it's not really all that helpful. It doesn't explain much.

The prior destroyed segments of the railroad suggest the tutorial wants you to create a route with single track. That's fine, but how do you get a a train to run on single track?

I have a double headed loco setup, and the head train continues to spam "No Path".

How do I fix this?

Is the other train stop on the right side of the track, and if there are signals on the tracks do they have a pair?

The track in the picture simply just leads to another train stop. I named it home base. I gave both of them wait parameters. However, when the loco is full of iron, it just spams no path and won't return to home base.

I haven't setup any signals. Not sure how and haven't played with them yet. I figured I didn't need signals since this is just a 1 way track, back and forth to the pick and drop location.

Is the home base stop placed similarly to the mine, that is to say on the right side in reference to direction of travel

#

Also, does the other locomotive have fuel

Both locomotives have fuel. How do you check the track's direction of travel? Isn't it universal?

Trains only go where they have signals on the right side of the direction of travel. So if you want your train to automatically go from left to right you need signals and stations on the "bottom" side of the track, going from right to left needs it on the "top".

This is the other station.

I just made it loop back on both stops

Yup, you've got the station on the wrong side

#

From the view of the train that station is on the left when you want it to move to that station

So I want this on this side?

timber comet

AFAIK you should see outlines on the track if you have the station on the side you want there. Those outlines will show where the train will stop at that station

Yup. See those outlines

Ya

Oh it's working now. Yay

That means a train will park there at that station. It also makes it a bit easier to line up the inserters and stuff to where the wagons will end up

So if I setup a train from the south, I want to have the stop on the right?

Left to left, right to right?
