#PH0TON's Nuclear Reactors

MOX fuel cells have 20 GJ of energy can be burned up in a reactor
MOX stands for Mixed OXide and is a real fuel
PUREX is also a real process
by crafting up, using up and reprocessing MOX you get more Pu-239 than you put in, making it a viable method of turning U-238 and iron into Pu-239 if you get bored of the 1.6% chance of obtaining Pu-239 from conventional fission
Update: new plutonium isotope, Pu-240. Obtainable only from PUREX extraction process, used in LPu fuel.
well my mod stopped working for some reason
Well, got it sorted out
LPu fuel cells contain 24GJ of power each, but they cost more plutonium than MOX so the power output is questionable. However, they are required in order to obtain better fission fuels.
now we're cooking with thermonuclear fissile material
this will be a crafting component for.. more advnaced machines, lets just say
Beta and Gamma will come at their own level, likely
I think higher isotope yields should still be lower with more lower isotope yields
A very tiny fraction of the uranium turns into plutonium, most of it will still remain 238
Yea you get less plutonium than you put in uranium
Most gets wasted
The main thing of MOX is power generation and refining uranium 238 into plutonium, and it barely produces more than it consumes right now
Ok so i looked around on factorio.com and found out that most nuclear power mods dont have the scope that i am planning
time for fuels retexture
Low-energy Americium (LeAm) fuel cells will contain 48 GJ per fuel cell.
High energy cells will come in the future yes, they will consume different ratios of isotopes and require a special reactor
behold the grand retexture and some new items
using cluster grenades to clear out biters in my creative world inspired me a little
thats right, nuclear grenades!
LeAm fuel cells contain 48 GJ of energy
i will make sure they are not cheap
there is only 1 more tier of nuclear fuels, and there will be two fuels there, both derived from americium
Neptunium will have a lot of energy, but requires a slower version of the reactor, Curium on the other side requiring an active cooled reactor just to run low-energy fuels
active cooled reactors will be used for processing of high-energy fuels
also americium will also require the slow reactor
after that you get into the 2nd chapter of nuclear processing...
The second fuel cell color is a bit too similar to the vanilla one
well its partly uranium
i'll try to fix it
thanks for sharing your opinion, it really helps
turns out products of neptunium fission are considerably useless
the processing recipe will involve a causal throwing it into barrels
i have done some work
yes, all those have recipes
currently energy production is anything but balanced, but that will change when i start implementing better reactors
all the funny centrifuge colors, now i cant bother to make screenshots of every recipe and compile them here because its considerably complex
if you dont install centrifuge tint system alongside this mod, it will still be playable but all the centrifuges will glow green
oh, new centrifuge color and a counterpart to kovarex for neptunium!
you dont really have much use for all the residual Np237 so you can turn it back into Np236 and squeeze out some more power
wont be cheap to research however
Did you consider making actually useless end products?
