Tungsten is known as one of the toughest metals, and goes for quite a bit. The process for smelting such a metal requires a whole new system from traditional methods, so here’s my idea.
1: harvesting. You need a heavy auto miner to harvest the small tungsten ore.
2: heating the metal. To heat the metal, you need a temperature greater than what you have now, so you’ll need an electric arc furnace. Basically, ore goes in one side raw, and goes out the other side molten. In the molten form it’s able to be forged into a bar, but it eventually cools down. After about a minute of being in it’s molten form, it cools back down and needs to go through the electric arc furnace again. but to fuel the machine you need slag (used in direct electric arc furnaces irl, like shown in pic #2).
3: treat it like steel. Tungsten can only be forged into the heavy smelter due to it’s high temperature, but that temperature is only kept by a constant flow of coal. If tungsten doesn’t get enough heat it becomes useless slag.
