I have had a similar issue with my partner when he's running something like bongo cat as well through steam, the chat has him showing as only playing bongo cat, if your friend is running something else which has taken over their now playing, they'd need to close that

Try to allow in firewall yapyap.exe, you and your friend too

if it will not help, try to disconnect (logout) from steam, turn it completly off and then turn on again

yes, if the windows firewall /defender is turned off cause of antivirus, surelly you can try to check in antivirus app

open cmd and type this in:

nslookup google.com

you will see 2 lines:

Server: 1.1.1.1
Adress: 1.0.0.1

if it shows like this ur using a cloudflare dns

if it's like:
192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 ur using a router dns witch is fine.
