disconnects me from a friend's server.
did it happen recently ? if yes, can you now replicate issue and send here logs ?
if you need help with access logs lemme know
I hope I understood correctly and sent the right file
can you send even player_prev?
ok i found it
Send issue: k_EResultNoConnection
Connection to server was lost.
[YapNetworkManager] Client disconnected from server
[STEAM] Disposing auth ticket (Handle: 17)
[YapNetworkManager] Client stopped
connection to server was lost, then your friend have issue with firewall or connection
Can your friend try to hotspot connection with cellular data ?
Connect his device on Wifi from mobile hotspot
If the same situation will not happen on cellular data, its internet connection what he primarily using
Okay, but two of my other friends play with him just fine and they have no connection problems.
it should be problem on your side too, there is probbably some connection issue for sure
but we need to go test the thing. If on cellular data hotspot will happen the same, it may be your firewall who dropping the connection (P2P connection what is base for the yapyap is on some OS builds restricted or timeouted in firewall)
If it will not happen, then somehow your peer and his peer stop communicating.
In That case we can try even reverse connection, and that works like -> you will be host of session, and they will connect to you. If they will suddenly have same issue as you had before alone. Its issue on firewall
By the way, we tried that option; it has the same problem when I become the host.
I could be wrong, of course, but could turning off the firewall help?
i cant recommend that, the firewall is there for reason, and you probbably cant even do it on your own. It may be on router side
And if you are not managing router, then you need to ask ISP to allow some ports.
But, if you already tried that and your friends had same problem as you experience, there is one more option
You can try to use cellular data (so you will not go through router connection and that means you will not have same firewall)
and if it will not happen when you will be on cellular data, its 120% on firewall on router.
Got it, I'll try now
if it will be confirmed its firewall you can try this
Recommended Firewall Actions
Add Exception: Allow YAPYAP.exe through your Windows Firewall, specifically for both incoming and outgoing connections.
Networking Protocol: The game uses peer-to-peer connection for multiplayer, so ensuring the executable is allowed is more effective than opening specific static ports.
or
contacting your ISP and ask them to open this ports
Recommended Port Forwarding (Steam)
If you are hosting a lobby and friends cannot join, forward the standard Steam networking ports on your router:
TCP: 27015-27030, 27036-27037
UDP: 4380, 27000-27031, 27036
It seems the problem was solved simply by adjusting the firewall settings, thank you so much for your help ❤️
In my case, adding it to the firewall exceptions helped; maybe it will be useful to someone.
