Hi! I'm a visually impaired gamer, and I recently tried the demo for Raccoin. Overall I found it pretty user friendly, but I did find myself straining to read quite a lot of the boxes, especially during the tutorial. White text on a light background is really difficult for me to read due to my eyesight, even with a drop shadow providing contrast on the lower parts of the letters.
Having the option to increase the contrast between the text and boxes, by having darker colours as a background, would be a huge benefit for readability! This is especially important when using coloured text, as this against certain colours can be difficult to read (For more on this, look into the Ishihara Colour-Blindness test, which can also affect people with severe myopia and astigmatism, and other eye conditions like myself, unfortunately!)
I've made a quick mockup showing the difference so you can see what I mean with a little more clarity, I hope! The bottom right is a duplicate with faux-scanlines, too. I had to turn off the CRT effects before I was able to get through the tutorial, as this severely impeded my ability to read the tutorial text.
(Finding the options cog was a little difficult, too, it's quite small!)
Lastly, I've also shown a mock-up of the Exchanges dots. They're quite small and easy to lose track of. This may be something that will be addressed in the final release, but I did think a 'lights' system where the circles remain but the central dot or 'light' goes out, as well as a number counter, provides more clarity for this. Just an extra that I added while also showing the white-on-red contrast text.
I know you're very close to release, and something like this could take time to consider and implement, but I do hope that it will make it's way into the game in some form, and I hope my description and mockups are of use! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! (Probably a good idea to @ me as well, I often miss replies in threads!)
