Now onto the final part...game mechanic ideas!
- hospital events. While playing the game, players have a chance of experiencing events such as:
° power outage: all machines and lights stop working and someone needs to turn the power back on before anymore patients can be discharged or treated (this feature can be added onto when more content Is added to the game.)
° virus outbreak: Patient spawn rate increases by 2 - 4x causing the waiting room to fill up fast, normal patients still spawn but at a way lower rate, patients symptoms worsen quicker, infected patients can infect nearby patients after 3 minutes of waiting in the lobby, any players not wearing gloves or masks during this time can also be infected (lowering run and walk speed, slightly blurry screen, cough and sneezing sound affect/animation).
° Mass Casualty Incident (MCI): tons of critical patients arrive at once, extremely high risk for patients needing to be revived using a defibrillator or other methods, patients needing to be responded to under 3 minutes, roughly 10 - 20 patients can be seen coming into the building at once, different types of symptoms will be shown depending on the cause of the MCI event.
° Hospital Inspection: this mechanic requires players to keep the hospital clean, change out bedding, and treat patients correctly. If the hospital is mostly clean and patients are taken care of the inspector will give a temporary XP and cash boost that lasts 2 in game days. This gives us a reason to clean up spills and stuff off the floor and keep the bedsheets clean.
° code pink: if children really do get added into the game I think this event would be a good idea to add in the game. During a code pink you must locate the missing child and then return them to their room (this event will only have the chance at triggering if you are taking care of that child.) this event also gives you a badge and some cash.
