I recommend installing the official Miasma theme for neovim if you really like the color scheme, the aether version of it works but the official one is much better.

distant thunder
#

How do I know which theme I'm running? Aether one or, the cool one?

daring trout
distant thunder
#

Ah, thank you.

daring trout
#

it will say Miasma if its the official one

distant thunder
#

I got it! Theme looks great and love the wallpaper.

daring trout
#

Awesome, glad to hear its working as intended!

coarse valley
#

Animations are a bit slow for my taste, especially workspace transition, but apart from that I absolutely love this theme! Great job.

daring trout
#

Yeah I wanted to get a think fog vibe but I already thinking to ton them down (speed up) a bit

daring trout
#

I've made an initial attept to tweak the animations, starts slow but finishes faster.

#

well workspace switching tried some minor speed up of the others

daring trout
#

Vencord background fixed.

daring trout
#

@neon dragon 🙏 ♥️

vague bay
#

@daring trout feel free to ignore if busy. Ive copied your waybar theme from this miasma-theme github, but it does not look like your screenshot. im sure i did it right. any ideas?

daring trout
#

what does it look like?

vague bay
#

I grabbed from this folder:

waybar-theme

daring trout
#

or if you want to use the wayflipper, and you put them in ~/.config/waybar/themes/miasma/

vague bay
daring trout
#

omarchy-restart-waybar

#

yeah you just need the restart waybar

#

the wayflipper does this for you if you do it via --browse

#

I think the CLI to, I should check/test that

#

anyway just do omarchy-restart-waybar and you should be good to go

vague bay
#

i did do that, same thing. No worries i dont want to waste your time! I will try another waybar config from somewhere and see if that one works. My limited theory is that perhaps the file in the waybar theme is a deafault ish one

daring trout
#

oops it looks like they did not get updated. hang tight

#

ok update or pull from github the correct files

daring trout
#

I aim to please

#

but really your helping me out, its hard to keep track of all the files especially when adding the extras like waybar themes

daring trout
#

especially if you work on 2 or 3 themes at a time which I often do.

vague bay
#

ty bro! I will try the theme too which i also love, but just trying my first custom waybar for now. thank you i love it

daring trout
#

looks good on the gruvbox

vague bay
#

been messing with it and learning. I learned a lot from your config. i want to thank you again!

daring trout
#

Cool, it's actual a modifed version of one of @formal notch 's waybars

vague bay
#

youre both legends

#

ty both

tardy shale
#

the latest waybar by hancore also works nicely with this great theme. love the color scheme.

#

Is there any way to adjust the speed of the animations in a config? I am unabe to find a correspondign file

daring trout
#
animations {
  enabled = yes

  bezier = neon, 0.4, 0.0, 0.2, 1.0
  bezier = miasma, 0.55, 0.02, 0.38, 0.98
  bezier = fogbank, 0.70, 0.01, 0.30, 1.00
  bezier = toxic, 0.85, 0.00, 0.25, 1.00

  # Base window animation (no style here; avoids infecting windowsMove)
  animation = windows,     1, 10, miasma

 # Open: grow from center
  animation = windowsIn,   1, 10, miasma, popin 5%

  # Close: shrink to center (opposite)
  animation = windowsOut,  1,  9, miasma, popin 75%

  # Tiling reflow / resize / gap changes: keep it tight and non-sliding
  animation = windowsMove, 1,  5, miasma

  animation = fade,        1,  5, miasma
  animation = fadeIn,     1,  5, default
  animation = fadeOut,     1,  5, default
  animation = border,      1,  5, default
  animation = borderangle, 1, 60, linear, loop
  animation = workspaces,  1,  10, toxic, slide
}
#

the key parts are

animation = fade,        1,  5, miasma
  animation = fadeIn,     1,  5, default
  animation = fadeOut,     1,  5, default
  animation = border,      1,  5, default
  animation = borderangle, 1, 60, linear, loop
  animation = workspaces,  1,  10, toxic, slide

the second number is the speed lower is usually faster but I think border angle is the opposite iirc

#

you could also place your prefered animation config in ~/.config/hypr/looknfeel.conf

#

that way you leave the theme alone but then this way overrides all themes

#

so depends how you wish to handle it.

tardy shale
#

T hank you

daring trout
#

@Taha May This be added to Extra Themes?

queen hedge
#

needs some tiny work on animation to make smooth and fast
made my own conf but would like to see ur take on better animation
love it tho

#

using it with hancore v3 min waybar as well

#

i would love like 2 more wallpaper with that theme as well, dunno what do u call this style

daring trout
#

I speed up animation and moved to more of a foggy fade infavor of movement. This give more of a fog effect even at faster speeds, let me know what you think. the feedback is really helpful

#

It's updated now

queen hedge
#

also more wallpaper please

tardy shale
#

loving the new update. improves it a lot

tardy shale
#

Would love to see an obsidian integration, because the automated one is very hard on the eyes

daring trout
formal notch
#

nice color sheme, "I" just need to adjust animation for my personal taste

daring trout
#

Sigh, no one likes my animations it seems geees

formal notch
daring trout
#

yeah everyone likes it snappy. I'm old I guess i enjoy a slower slyalized animation but I love eyecandy.

tardy shale
#

nah I like the current fading iteration a lot. will keep the speed as is. The one before was a lot more annoying.

daring trout
daring trout
formal notch
daring trout
#

And one more, ok that is enough for now.

queen hedge
daring trout
#

I made some speed tweaks and possible one fix. let me know if its better after update

queen hedge
daring trout
#

to what?

queen hedge
#

maybe the terminals

daring trout
#

there is opacity but its purposefully only faint but active is solid.

queen hedge
#

i see

daring trout
#

actually active is almost solid like .95 i think

queen hedge
#

great work tho
was using ur dracula theme before that

daring trout
#

nice! thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I'll consider them.

queen hedge
#

afaik the animations in dracula theme were snappy so maybe smth similar would be the sweet spot

#

ty

daring trout
#

dracula has no added animation. it's the defualt omarchy snap animations

queen hedge
#

i see no wonder then

daring trout
#

glad you like the style of those 2, I am wanting to make more themes in the style of Miasma and Flat Dracula, what do you like most about those 2?

queen hedge
#

what i want in a theme are the warm colors and good wallpapers
that miasma theme caught my eyes mainly cuz of the wallpaper

#

good vibe

#

my prev theme was void, had a similar wallpaper too

daring trout
#

ok, nice yeah there is a lack of warm color schemes, I am actually slowly designing my own warm focused color scheme but it's not the dark mood vibe its a warm happy vibe but it still needs a lot of work.

queen hedge
#

keep cooking
i will be waiting for the next one

daring trout
#

I have one in the works that is the still spooky vibe unfortunetly that is a cool color scheme using Frost

queen hedge
#

PensiveHodo do people even find it comfortable to work with such color scheme in long sessions

daring trout
#

doesn't bother me

#

but I do gravate to warmer colors more lately, I guess it does get to me a little bit but I change my themes constantly especialy with making themes and working on my Theme Manager+

queen hedge
#

i see

#

i guess with how frequently u change ur themes u wont feel it

daring trout
#

I have a sysadmin friend that uses Bright green on solid black. 8+ hours a day.

any vscode theme to hook up? 👀

daring trout
vague bay
#

@daring trout does this have colors.toml yet brtoher?

daring trout
#

by local I mean my local repo I made one but have not pushed it as I have not decided if i want omarchy to generate all the files or not yet. I'm getting to know how it works and if I like it in a new theme or two

vague bay
#

but toally your call

#

i just adore this theme as a gruvbox fan

daring trout
#

ah I see ok I'll push it up for that.

#

ok your all set

#

guess i'll push it up on all of my theme.

vague bay
#

Words can’t express how amazing you are dude, community lucky to have you

daring trout
#

but if you care colors.toml is not really doing anything in miasma right now as i am still overriding them with files in the theme

vague bay
#

Yeah that totally makes sense, I think it’s just triggering failures. I’ll test it very soon my toddler got some tummy issues real quick

daring trout
#

yeah Bypass added it into his new update so all add it so they don't fail for those using it.

#

Not sure why the hook would need to even look at colors.toml but whatever

vague bay
#

worked perfect zero erros now

#

ty sir 🫡

daring trout
#

Updated the waybar theme a little.

daring trout
#

Sorry another waybar update, this feel much cleaner hope others agree

queen hedge
#

@daring trout das from ur theme ig?

daring trout

uhm have you updated the theme?

queen hedge

ye

daring trout

do you use the theme-hook by bypass?

if so or your not sure try theme-hook-update

queen hedge

should fix it

queen hedge

i just did

daring trout
queen hedge
#

okay

fervent plover
#

are you on the latest version of omarchy? this seems like its trying to read a theme that may be out of date

#

hard to say for sure

queen hedge
#

also for some reason running thctl uninstall results in error

#

maybe my hook is corrupted or smth

queen hedge
#

wait how to uninstall now that thctl uninstall doesnt work and i cant find it in the packages to remove

daring trout
#

can we move this to hook thread?

#

or something

#

the conversation

fervent plover
#

Wherever is fine with me; I just go where I am pinged

queen hedge
#

are we sure it aint the color.toml file thing?

daring trout
#

what about it?

#

here i tried something , update miasma and reapply the theme

queen hedge
#

aight

daring trout
#

its a work around sort of but glad it worked

queen hedge
#

ty ty sorry for bothering u

daring trout
#

no trouble

@potent canopy would love to see this theme in the extra theme directory 🙏

I now plan to generate some new wallpapers.

Hello! I got back into linux today after a bit of a break, but I now find my browser and spotify not being adapted to miasma. I updated everything omarchy, spicetify, extra themes, and even theme-hook. Is it just a temporal issue because of the new theme system?

#

This is how my firefox looks like after updating

daring trout
#

Interesting. I don’t use those apps so I’ll have to look at it. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll do my best to get it fixed

#

If anyone else can test and see if they get the same behavior. I am unfortunately not at my OmaPC ATM.

tardy shale
#

any update regardig the firefox issue? it is very annoying to use this way

daring trout
#

Ok try it now

tardy shale
#

Not sure what is going on here. It does work now, but it looks different to yours. Thanks for updating it

daring trout
#

ok yours looks more correct not sure why why is not not correct

daring trout
tardy shale
#

Yes it does. Thank you

#

Yeah realized as well. I changed through multiple themes and updated the theme hook again. somewhere during these actions, it started working again

daring trout
#

cool, well it now has a set firefox.css so if you notice anything off with the colors there I can adjust them now 🙂
glad it seems to be sorted out

@daring trout this will be my forever theme, any way I can prevent cmatrix from using this background color?

daring trout

I see well cmatrix does a thing that uses color0 as bg rather then just the terminal background.. will see if there is a workaround without altering the miasma canonical colorscheme

#

what terminal do you use?

ghostty

daring trout

tacit canyon

unimatrix is good too.

daring trout

other options is you could add a ghostty.conf to the theme but that will break it from updating of miasma theme, unless you stash that each time. The other option is forking cmatrix and/or PR the fix to it/

cmatrix is old so it assume pure ANSI colors unlike most terminal emulates today
