Tips?

Loving Kate in the game, but I'm having a hard time playing to her strengths. I find myself poorly managing the clones and being extremely low, like, all the time 🥹
Any general tips for clone management or effective uses of them?? Thanks a bunch :P

Best to not throw out clones a lot in neutral unless you cover it with an assist.

Bar can be burned for 50/50 mixups after you knock someone down.

Give her characters with good projectile assists, lockdown assists, or both.

Lockdown assists? Sorry, i'm fairly inexperienced with tag fighters

Usually a multihitting assist that forces the opponent to block a bit longer than normal and stops them dashing/jumping away so much.

Battle Beast's back assist for example.

Or both of Powerplex's

While they're blocking you can use the opportunity for Kate to get in their face or throw out a boosted clone (where she sends out two) and you can confuse the opponent into blocking high or low with them.

It also lets you keep pressure going as Kate if you end a long string of attacks with her and then use the assist to keep them blocking so you can start again.

I also run bulletproof which has a lockdown too, should i try switch one of them out for someone with projectiles?

Characters with good lockdown would be Battlebeast, Powerplex, Thula, Anissa, Lucan, Allan, Cecil, BULLETPROOF, Robot,
Ella Mental (hers is unique because the gap between the blocked fireball hits can let the opponent act, but doing so is risky and it lets kate sneak in a grab sometimes between the firsy fireball bounce and the second)

Some lockdowns like Robot's and Cecil's are also projectiles if you want to consider those for the utility of both.

As for good projectile assists you can't go wrong with Eve, Rex, Robot, Cecil, Ella or Powerplex.

Each has other unique traits for their neutral assists too.

rn i'm just waiting for that Oliver dlc to drop 🥹🥹🥹 he's my most anticipated one (cause he's totally coming out)

I don't really like playing zoners in fighting games but Cecil really intrigues me

I doubt Oliver will get added till he's much older because the game would get banned in some regions for depicting what looks like a child being punched into red mist

Cecil assist is really good and he has some interesting options with his teleport

I use powerplex and Ella mental with Kate. Both powerplex and Ella mental have pretty decent projectile assist and Ella mental has a rock she can plant that damages the opponent after being knocked down helping me set up a clone mix up

I’m also trying to learn dupli-kate but I’m struggling with trying to make a full team around her. Would something like Invincible/Dupli-Kate/Battle Beast be good?

These r an example of the set up I do with her on wake up based on my team Kate, Powerplex and Ella mental

A team like this can work as Invincible's neutral assist can kind of serve the same purpose a projectile would, especially since it's so fast. You can kinda use Battle Beast back assist to take space as well, but it's better for lockdown after finally getting in. You're able to still get in with this team so I personally think this comp can work

Bonus of having Invincible is that since his forward assist takes so space, you can convert off it from basically full screen if you just dash, cancel it with down and then boost dash
