I came from games like Quake and Titanfall, the last time I played a game with this level of mobility and attention to movement tech, it was a game called Roboquest. There's like 3 big things I'd just genuinely love to see, I have no clue how difficult it would be to put in but god I hope you guys at least see one of these and go "Oh hell yeah."

1.) What I'd really like is wallrunning, but I think an easier answer, and potentially a higher skill ceiling alternative, is setting the game up to detect side collisons for your dash cooldown, I'm imagining a scenario where you're on a map like Canyon, at the bottom of the map where there's water, and as you slam into that wall, it would detect the wall the same way it'd detect your feet hitting the floor, and reset the cooldown on your dash. This would create avenues to scenarios where you were chaining wall hops for vertical mobility, and also crashing into walls, and immediately recovering from the crash in mid air, where typically in the current mechanics you'd have to crash, put boots on the ground, then get your dash back. This would essentially be a Super Mario style wall hop in this case. It'd also just be cool to chain dashes off the edges of light poles and cactus and stuff.

2.) I honestly think that stuff like reduced gravity and extra jumps should be blue tier maximum, personally I want it down at green and lower, or cheaper alternatives with lower stats than the purple tiered Jokers, but I want a lot of things that'd let me stack even crazier mobility and verticality. This games mobility is art, I think it's sad that we're taxed so heavily on the cost compared to available slots, when really its one of the biggest highlights of my experience so far, I don't necessarily think it should be such a heavy investment when the mobility seems almost structural to the game. I'd go as far as saying we'd have the most fun with a entire parallel tree to the typical Cowboy Jokers branch, where all of that perk line is dedicated to mobility(and maybe even mobility cooldown reductions), with the main skill tree being centered around combat modifying Jokers.

3.) Ledge Grabs, and Edge Tech. Borderlands 3 had a character named Zane that was essentially that game's Speedster, he was a crackhead that flew around the map at 500 miles per hour and Borderlands 3 in general had some edge tech that I haven't seen in any other game besides Genji in Overwatch, and Genji was patched out of this tech. In Borderlands 3 when you grab a ledge while flying through the air at a million miles an hour, the ledge brought you to a complete halt till it brought your whole character frame over the ledge, and then immediately sling-shotted you back to a million miles per hour. This is one of the only actual gripes I have with my gameplay so far, I'm flying over the desert, above the clouds, crashing back to Earth slowly, I see a plateau, I redirect myself to the plataeu in mid air, and to my dismay I'm ever so slightly under the point where I can land on it and I slide down the side of it. I yearn for that BL3 Ledge Grab tech, I desire nothing more in life right now than to ledge tech myself from Plateau to Plateau, soaring above the hoards of undead below me as I try to land headshots with a bow from outter space.

I actually can't believe I let this game sit around for a month before I got into it, you guys have made me so happy, you filled a movement shooter shaped void in my life.

i really want to be sonic as well but running away is OP since some objectives don't even require you to be nearby after you start them

plus most enemies can't catch up to you if you keep running and even if they do they will be in a line making them extremely easy to kill with certain spells

  • I think wallrunning would, likely not gel with the game design and envionment: however. Deadlock. Deadlock don't got wall slides, but you can wall leap. Bounce off walls. Can't spam and use it to climb vertical walls, it's just a diagonal leap away from wall.

Yeah Far Far West I bought unsure if I would keep, but the visuals + customization + magic + FPS + movement = stellar. 💯

If you like movement shooters, you may want to try Deadlock. It's MOBA third person shooter. Has a buncha same or similar movement stuff that source games Team Fortress 2, Titanfall 2 you know.

So you probably want a game that isn't Far far West.
If you want wall running/movement shooter, go check Shatter Rush. :)

You talk about wall running on map design that barely have any walls.

I do not why they bothered with your profile; but regardless, I think Longbow made their statement because the OP obviously does not "want a game that isn't Far Far West":

you guys have made me so happy, you filled a movement shooter shaped void in my life.
quite self evident

It's just a surface level suggestion; half of the post likely should have been #1428682617900761129 (wallrun, ledge grabs)
