I know the developers are anti-FOMO, and that's great. I think many playtesters are happy to have been supporting the game since before its release, and it would be cool to be able to show that within the game itself, not with a skin or anything similar that might be considered FOMO. I wonder if it would be possible to get something similar to what's on Discord, like a tag that indicates you've been there from the beginning, or simply a different nickname color.

Especially if we were to get some sort of fancy mission start/mission end screen

I think the same, it would be cool and I don't think it would be considered FOMO, even if they add tags for playtesters or demo players
