Are there any modifiers or any characteristic (rather than just the challenge of it), that makes it more "fair"?

-Are there less enemy spawns?
-Do you get more resources after the missions?

Never paid much attention to that, but a huge difference is that in coop players can revive each other, while in solo it's game over

less enemy spawns, yes but same amount of gold veins/stuff on the map (depending on the difficulty, soul enemy spawns may vary) as for exp, you lose exp if you extract with some dead players (there's a -[amount of exp] if not all players are alive at the end of the mission)

Less enemies and elites/bosses have less health

generally coop goes quicker if youre collecting everything. Aswell as getting more jokers per horseman or chest.

However solo lets you control the pace of a mission, less enemies, and being able to take all the ammo/health.
